Another Lost Soul

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

In a trend that has occurred after every break so far, yet another announcement was made for a player who couldn't find his table. Must be something in the air today.

Affleck's Kings Reign Supreme

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

A late position raiser made it 750 and the action folded around to Matt Affleck in the big blind. Affleck pulled his blind back and shoved out a tower of black chips for a raise making it 2,100. The late position raiser announced an all in and Affleck instantly called.

Affleck: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Opponent: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

The board fell {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Affleck was able to double up to about 19,000 in chips.

Smith Doubles

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

We caught action with Jordan Smith all in against one other player. Smith won Event #36: $2,000 No-Limit Hold'em in 2009 and bubbled the November Nine final table in 2009.

He held {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and his opponent held {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. The board ran out {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Smith now sits with around 17,000 in chips.

Dempsey Flushed Out

We found James ‘Flushy’ Dempsey all in preflop with {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}. He was up against an opponent’s {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and it also appeared as though there was another player all in with but we’re unsure of what he had. Although Dempsey flopped a queen, it came {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} to give his opponent the flopped nut flush. There would be no runner-runner miracle for Dempsey as the turn and river were the {J-Clubs} and {4-Clubs} and he was literally flushed out of the tournament.

Mercier Sends One Home

From under the gun, Jason Mercier raised to 600 and got a call from a player in late position. The flop came {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Mercier led out for 650. His opponent min-raised, making it 1,300 total. Mercier made the call and the {K-Clubs} turned. The two players checked and we were off to a river.

The river paired the board, bringing the {8-Hearts}. Mercier pushed out a bet of 2,950 and his opponent instantly moved all in.

"What is that?" asked Mercier, "Like a thousand more? Yeah I call".

Mercier's opponent triumphantly flipped over {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} only to be trumped by Mercier's {J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for trip eights. His opponent was sent home while Mercier was able to add a nice amount to his stack.

Cash Money Young Money

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

We caught up with the action on a {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} board where Jordan Young was facing a bet of 2,150. He made the call and we couldn’t quite make out what his opponent had but Young showed {A-Spades}{3-Hearts} for a pair of aces which were good to boost his stack.
