Gallagher Gets Smashed

PLO

With around 10,000 in the pot and a flop of {7-Spades}{Q-Spades}{5-Spades}, Eugene Du Plessis checked from late position only to have Mark Gallagher bet 6,000 from the cutoff. Du Plessis gave it some thought before check-raising to 12,000. Gallagher refused to back down and three-bet all in for 32,000. Du Plessis quickly called and the cards were turned on their back.

Du Plessis: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Gallagher: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Du Plessis had flopped the nuts while Gallagher picked the wrong time to bluff. The {A-Hearts} turn and {4-Clubs} river didn't change a thing, as Gallagher was sent to the rail.

Elezra Busts

Eli Elezra - Eliminated
Eli Elezra - Eliminated

Eli Elezra ended up all in for his last 12,200 and was called by Mark Dickstein.

Elezra: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{j-Spades}
Dickstein: {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}

The flop brought bad news for Elezra as it came {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} giving Dickstein two pair. The turn and river of the {6-Hearts} and {8-Spades} couldn't help Elezra and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Apparently Elezra's chips weren't much help to Dickstein though as a few minutes later his seat was noticeably empty and his chips were gone as well.

Leandri can Breathe Again Thanks to Gill

PLO

On a flop of {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, Stewart Yancik checked from the small blind and Jeanphilippe Leandri bet 6,000 from the under-the-gun position. Carter Gill, who was playing from middle position, responded with a raise to 26,000. Yancik got out of the way while Leandri called off for a total of 11,900.

Gill: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Leandri: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}

The {8-Diamonds} turn delivered Leandri a flush, which was good after the {8-Clubs} was put out on the river. Leandri essentially tripled on the hand.

Greenstein Eliminated

Barry Greenstein - Eliminated
Barry Greenstein - Eliminated

PLO

An already short-stacked Barry Greenstein raised to 3,500 from early position and was called by Tyler Patterson from the big blind. The flop came {j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Patterson put out a stack of chips that had Greenstein's remaining chips covered. Greenstein called and their hands were revealed.

Greenstein: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Patterson: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades}

Patterson's pair of deuces was best and the {2-Hearts} that came on the turn made his hand even stronger. The {j-Spades} on the river was of no help to Greenstein and he was eliminated.

Greenstein pulled out a copy of his book "Ace on the River" and signed it for Patterson before exiting the table. Patterson said, "I already have the book, but I don't have a signed one!"

In addition to a signed copy of Greenstein's book, Patterson now has around 55,000 in his stack.

Clements Profits While Allen Triples

Scott Clements
Scott Clements

PLO

Kevin Allen raised to 4,000 under the gun, leaving just 800 behind, and Wilfried Harig called from middle position. When action reached Scott Clements in the big blind, he announced pot, making it 11,500 more to go. Allen called off his paltry stack while Harig put in the additional chips.

Harig, who hails from Denmark, checked the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop and Clements immediately announced, "Pot." Harig immediately folded and it was heads-up action with Allen at risk.

Clements: {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Allen: {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}

It appeared Clements had his eyes set on the sizable side pot, which he happily added to his stack. As for the main pot, Allen was ahead with his aces. The {3-Diamonds} turn gave Clements a straight draw, but the {Q-Clubs} river blanked. Allen tripled on the hand.

Chan Takes One Off Entin

PLH

Action folded to Jonas Entin on the button and he put in a standard raise to 2,800. Wilson Chan decided to look him up from the big blind and the duo watched the flop come down {6-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Chan checked, Entin bet 3,800, and Chan called.

Both players proceeded to check the {5-Diamonds} turn as well as the {8-Diamonds} river. Chan flipped over {5-Spades}{3-Clubs} for two pair and Entin simply mucked.

Clements Staying Active

PLO

Scott Clements raised to 2,800 in late position and was called by Inesa Paberzs from the small blind. The flop came {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Paberzs check-called a bet of 3,200 from Clements. The turn brought the {2-Hearts} and Paberzs checked again. Clements bet 4,600 and after tanking for a few minutes Paberzs decided to call.

When the river brought the {10-Diamonds}, Paberzs checked again and this time Clements fired out a bet of 10,200. Paberzs decided to give up the hand and her stack dropped to 84,000 while Clements stack increased to 76,000.
