Binger Building

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Michael Binger is having a good afternoon. He started the day with 22,600 in chips and has been steadily climbing since he sat down. We caught this hand on the turn:

The big blind and hijack both checked an {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{k-Hearts} board, and Binger bet 9,500 on the button. The big blind folded, and Binger's second opponent called. The river was the {8-Diamonds}. The hijack bet 16,600 into Binger, who snap-called and showed {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}. His two pair was good enough to take the pot and boost him to 128,000.

Smurfit Falls to Dwan

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Alan Smurfit potted in late position, and a player on the button called. Tom Dwan repotted in the small blind. Not intimidated, Smurfit hit the repot button too, making it another 35,000 or so to see a flop. The third player folded, and Dwan called. The flop was {j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, and Dwan was instantly all in for 68,000. Smurfit, shaking hard, called almost as fast.

Dwan: {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades} for top pair and a gutshot
Smurfit: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for a pair of aces

The {5-Diamonds} turn put Dwan in the lead with two pair, and the {4-Hearts} river brought no help for Smurfit. His whole body shaking, Smurfit counted out his stack and discovered that Dwan had him covered. As he made his exit, durrrr stacked up 230,000.

Coffee Break

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

One table is playing musical chairs. They had just broken Table #277 (the table numbers don't correspond to the seating draw). Just as that table was emptying, a player (who shall remain nameless) spilled an entire cup of coffee across the felt at a different table. It was too big of a spill to clean up quickly and continue playing, so the whole table moved one over to the recently-vacated #277.

Selbst Goes Runner-Runner

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Vanessa Selbst just got it all in with her opponent on the {10-}{7-}{2-} flop. She held the {A-}{Q-}{6-}{5-} and her opponent the {10-}{8-}{7-}{6-}. The turn was a {4-} and the river a {3-} to give Selbst a straight. She won the pot, eliminated her opponent and moved to 125,000 in chips.

Binger with a Double

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Gavin Cochrane opened to 3,300 under the gun, and a player in middle position called before the action got to Michael Binger in the big blind. He called, and as soon as the dealer laid out the {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop, Binger pushed out his whole stack. He was all in for 9,800. Cochrane made the call and the third player folded.

Binger: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for the nut flush draw and a gutshot with overcards
Cochrane: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{3-Spades} for a pair of kings

The {a-Hearts} turn meant they could be chopping, but the {q-Diamonds} river gave Binger top two pair for the double. He moved up 30,000.

Lisandro Out

Jeff Lisandro raised the pot to 3,500 and then the cutoff seat reraised to 8,500. The small blind called and Lisandro called all in for 7,800. The flop came down {A-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and the small blind checked. The cutoff seat bet 15,000 and the small blind folded, leaving Lisandro heads up with just one opponent.

Lisandro held the {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} to his opponent's {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.

The turn was the {Q-Spades} to put Lisandro behind and the river completed the board with the {6-Diamonds}. Lisandro went down to his opponent's aces and queens and hit the rail.
