One For Traniello and One For Corkins

Marco Traniello
Marco Traniello

Phillip Reed raised to 6,500 in the hijack seat, Cary Katz called in the small blind before Hoyt Corkins raised the pot from the big blind for around 45,000. Reed and Katz both folded and Corkins showed two red-jacks. Reed responded by telling the table he folded ace-queen.

Antonio Esfandiari raised to 5,100 in the cutoff, Burt Boutin called on the button, JP Kelly called in the small blind as did Marco Traniello in the big blind.

The flop was {J-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} and all four players checked. The turn saw the {9-Diamonds} make an appearance and Kelly bet 12,600, Traniello made the quick call and there were two folds. The river card was the {J-Spades} and the action checked through with Traniello drawing in the pot with {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}.

Landfish Folds One to Weinman

We joined the action on a flop of {J-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} and the two players in the pot were Daniel Weinman (HJ) and Steve Landfish (BB). Weinman had a bet of 9,000 in front of him and Landfish had check-raised to 25,500. The action was on Weinman and he raised it to 44,000 (leaving 21,700 behind).

Weinman and Landfish then entered into a diatribe of conversation prompting Phil Ivey to shout out, "bring back the internet." That remark prompted Landfish to eventually fold and Weinman showed the {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} for the draw.

Deeb Heating Up

Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Chris Moore opened to 6,000 from the cutoff, and Shaun Deeb three-bet to 16,500 next door. Paul Volpe looked like he was thinking sinister thoughts, but he eventually surrendered his big blind. Moore stacked out reraising chips, though, and he made it 41,000 total. Deeb's response was a pot-raise, and that resulted in Moore getting all in for about 160,000 or so. It was a big coin flip.

Showdown
Moore: {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}
Deeb: {J-Hearts} {J-Spades}

Deeb is running good today, and his jacks were no match for Moore. The board came out {9-Spades} {2-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}, and Moore has been eliminated. With that pot, Deeb is now dangerously close to 400,000 chips and a force to be reckoned with.

Maximum Pressure From Klodnicki

We joined the action on a flop of {9-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} and a trio of players in the pot. Jason Senti bet 8,600 from the small blind, Chris Klodnicki called from the big blind as did Andy Frankenberger in position. The turn card was the {10-Hearts} and Senti fired his second barrel worth 21,400.

"I raise pot," said Klodnicki.

Frankenberger's hat came off and his hands flew into the air. He eventually folded and it was Senti's turn to go through the wringer. Senti took a good three to four minutes before folding and Klodnicki took down the pot.

Mizzi Eliminated by Vinas

Sorel Mizzi has been eliminated. He put his tournament on the line with {6-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} and his opponent snapped him of holding {10-Spades} {10-Clubs}. The board was {Q-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {8-Hearts} and Mizzi was shown the door.

We were unsure of the conquerors name and so we asked him.

"I have been playing the world series for 35-years and you don't know my name? It's Tommy…Tommy Vinas…like the planet."

It could have been worse...it could have been Uranus.
