Welcome to Day 2 of Event #17 $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em; the event where the famous words, "all-in," are replaced by the single word, "pot." The removal of the ability to shove your chips into the middle, and the absence of antes, means that this format is a little slower than its Cadillac cousin. But despite the reduction in speed the quality of poker on display is amazing, and this is because of the calibre of players left in the 69 man and woman strong field.
In the top ten we have the chip leader Steve Landfish with two World Series of Poker final table appearances under his belt, multiple bracelet winner Farzad Bonyadi, one of the most feared players on the planet and last years WSOPE Main Event runner-up Chris Moorman, bracelet winner and World Poker Tour (WPT) champion David Benyamine, poker's golden couple and double European Poker Tour (EPT) winners Kevin MacPhee and Liv Boeree and finally multiple bracelet winner and all-time money leader Erik Seidel.
If you add Phil Ivey, Shaun Deeb, Sorel Mizzi, JP Kelly, Olivier Busquet, Antonio Esfandiari et al into the mix then this is some tournament and it is going to take some winning!
The Day 2 action starts at 13:00 PM direct from the Amazon room. The Pokernews team will be on site to bring you the very best coverage on the planet so stay tuned.

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier is up to an ominous looking 160,000 after eliminated Steve O'Dwyer. The action all occurred pre flop with O'Dwyer holding and ElkY holding (suited). An ace turned up somewhere on the board and O'Dwyer was out.
Paul Volpe just doubled up through Shaun Deeb in the very first hand after the break. The action was all pre flop with Volpe going with and Deeb fancying his . The board ran out and Volpe was up to 65,000.
Ali Eslami limped into the pot from first position and Daniel Weinman made the isolation raise to 11,500 in the hijack seat. One fold later and Chris Moorman started to show an interest in the pot from the button. He made a cold four-bet of 20,500, Eslami folded, Weinman moved all-in and Moorman called.
Weinman
Moorman
Board:
Weinman moved up to 159,000 and Moorman moved down to 208,000.
Cary Katz has just tripled up through the British pairing of Chris Moorman and Liv Boeree and this is how it happened.
Katz raised to 12,000 in early position and the action folded around to Boeree who was just about to eat her lunch. She stopped opening her food to allow herself to three-bet to 31,000. One fold later and Chris Moorman decided to four-bet 'pot' and the amount was 112,000. Katz and Boeree flew into the pot quicker than a rat up a drainpipe and we had a three-way all-in with Katz and Boeree at risk of elimination.
"I think you both have the same hand," said Katz and do you know what…he was right.
Katz
Moorman
Boeree
Board:
Moorman's terrible luck continued and he has 158,000 chips, Boeree is perilous on 41,500 and Katz is now up to 124,500.
Manuel Bevand came in raising to 12,000 in early position, and Bryn Kenney three-bet to 29,000 from the hijack. Bevand clicked it back to 52,000, Kenney shoved for 130,000, and the cards were on their backs soon thereafter.
Showdown
Bevand:
Kenney:
There was no help for Kenny on the board, and Bevand's queens outrun him. Kenney is forced to the rail in 25th place, and the money bubble is starting to loom on the horizon.
Bevand has positioned himself well as he stacks up a half-million chips following that knockout.
Action folded to Ryan Julius in the small blind and he raised to 15,000. Shaun Deeb three-bet to 40,000 from the big blind, but Julius came right back over the top with a four-bet to about 80,000. Deeb five-bet, Julius six-bet shoved for 270,000, and Deeb called.
Julius:
Deeb:
Deeb needed an ace, but didn't find it as the board rolled out .
Steve Landfish raised to 17,000 in first position, Manuel Bevand called in the cutoff as did Chris Moorman in the small blind.
So the trio saw a flop of and Moorman took the betting lead for 33,000 and both players made the call. The turned up on fourth street and Moorman fired his second bullet, this time for 90,000. Landfish was next to act and he moved all-in for around 267,000, Bevand folded and Moorman made the call.
Landfish
Moorman
So Moorman needed some help and the on the river was not the card he was hoping for. Landfish is back up to a mammoth 684,000 and Moorman is back down to 155,000.
Daniel Weinman raised to 35,000 in the cutoff and next to act was Matt Marafioti on the button. Marafioti has taken an eternity to make every decision today but this time he was in the pot quicker than a greyhound whizzes around the track.
"Let's make it 70," said Marafioti.
The action folded back around to Weinman and he decided to move all-in for 91,000 total, but it was a crying action. Marafioti made the call.
Weinman
Marafioti
So Weinman needed clubs and they rained down on the board like the streets of Ibiza.
Board:
Weinman moved up to 182,000 and Marafioti was down to 147,000.
