Chen Chipped Up

Bill Chen seems to be really enjoying himself, and with a 40,000-chip stack, it's not hard to see why.

He took down a very nice three-way pot just now. There was an under-the-gun raise and a small blind call before he three-bet from the big blind. Both players called. The real action took place on the the second round of betting when Chen was two-bet to 1,600 and put in a three-bet to 2,400.

Both players called and drew one each as Chen stood pat. All three checked their last chance to bet and Chen opened {4-}{6-}{2-}{3-}{8-}. Both players mucked and Chen raked in the pot.

Viffer's Stack Down a Little

David "Viffer" Peat and Shaun Deeb spent a good hour trying to come up with a bet and a price they both agreed on. After covering topics that varied from a must-win bet to the size of their man hoods, the bet never happened.

Viffer was cruising before, well above average, but his stack to a little hit and the average stack is creeping up behind him.

He raised from the button and was called by both blinds. He drew one and both his opponents drew two cards. All three players checked and drew the same amount of cards as the last round. Viffer then bet 800 when the action was checked to him and only the big blind called.

The next round of betting was checked through and the big blind said, "King" and opened {k-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{4-}. Viffer snap-mucked.

Deeb All-In, More Than Triples

Shaun Deeb was down to just 400 chips and called all-in from the cut-off. The button raised to isolate, and it worked as both blinds folded.

Deeb drew two to the button's one. Deeb stood pat from there on in as his opponent drew one each time.

Deeb: {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-}{2-}
Button player: {4-}{6-}{2-}{5-}{j-}

Deeb took this one but is still in dire shape.

Bakes' Stack Rising

David "Bakes" Baker has moved tables after his table broke in the orange section, and he's chipping up just as well over here.

The small blind raised into his big blind and he called before both drew two. Baker bet and the small blind check-called. On the next draw round the small drew two again and Baker only the one. The small blind wanted to hang around and check-called a 1,000 bet before both stood pat.

Baker went for another 1,000 bet, was called, and opened {2-}{6-}{7-}{3-}{4-}. The small blind mucked.

Rettenmaier Mad to Bluff Chen

Bill Chen opened to 1,000 from the cut-off. Marvin Rettenmaier and Allen Kessler both called out of the blinds.

Chen and Rettenmaier both drew two and Kessler drew three. Chen's 500 bet was called by both players and each player drew one less than they did the last round. Now Rettenmaier led for 1,000 and only Chen called. Rettenmaier stood pat and Chen drew one before he called another 1,000 from the German.

"You got it," said Rettenmaier and mucked. Chen opened {3-}{2-}{8-}{4-}{10-}.
