Introducing Kyle Weir

If you look into the live tournament record of Kyle Weir you won't find too much to set your pulse racing. With only $12,665 in live tournament earnings to his name he ranks as the 45,579th player in the all-time money list! But dig a little deeper and you realise that Weir is experiencing his poker heater.

Kyle Weir is the man who won the $10 million Sunday Million on PokerStars for a juicy $1,146,574 and right on cue he is scheduled for a deep run in a live event. In his second hand of the day he eliminated an opponent in a huge pot {Q-} {Q-} versus {A-} {K-} and we just saw him dispose of another opponent holding {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs} on a {K-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} board versus the {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades} of his opponent.

Weir now has 264,000 and must have a confident streak going through him that is going to shine.

Cruz Eliminates Polychronopoulos

Luis Rodriguez Cruz is on fire at Table #421. Yesterday he won a 100,000 pot against Dave Inselberg {Q-} {Q-} v {A-} {K-} to ensure he bagged up with 119,400 and he has more than doubled it today. How has he done it?

"Tell the people I played fantastically," said Cruz.

Inselberg, who is seated to his left concurred, so there you have it. We do know that he was responsible for eliminating the World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet holder Athanasios Polychronopoulos {A-} {Q-} v {A-} {10-}.

Cruz is now on 270,000.

Naquin Gets There; Poor Ashley Mason

Jacob Naquin has 4 World Series of Poker (WSOP) cashes to his name including a 4th place finish in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event last year. He now has 200,000 after 'getting there' against British pro Ashley Mason.

We joined the action on a flop of {J-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {2-Diamonds}, Naquin had moved all-in and Mason was in the tank. After several minutes thought Mason called and was ahead when the cards were turned onto their backs.

Naquin{K-Hearts} {10-Hearts}
Mason{A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}

WSOP bracelet holder James Dempsey raced over from a nearby table where he was playing a different event.

"Have it Mason…have it," said Dempsey.

Mason did have it, but not after the board had finished it's dirty work. The turn {3-Diamonds} and river {7-Hearts} reversing the fortunes and the pot went the way of Naquin.

Fair Deposes Manza From His Throne

It is all kicking off at Table#423! The steam is rising from the table and there is an amazing antagonistic vibe to the place that makes poker so interesting. The two players who are the focal point of the whole haze of heat are Ryan Fair and the overnight chip leader Jeff Manza.

Fair raised from the cutoff, Manza three-bet from the small blind and Fair made the call. The flop was {9-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} and after a series of raises and re-raises all of the money went into the middle of the pot and it was a monster.

Fair{3-Clubs} {3-Spades}
Manza{Q-Diamonds} {Q-}

So Fair had flopped a set against the over pair of Manza, but he still had the diamond outs to add to his queen outs.

Turn: {8-Diamonds}

The diamond on the turn handing Manza the flush and Fair goes from being a 65% favourite to a 23% dog.

River: {3-Hearts}

Fair hits quads and it all kicks off. We missed most of the commotion but there was an almighty war of words between Fair and Manza. After a while the players are still talking about the hand.

"I am over it. I don't know why you are still talking about it," said Manza.

"The game originated with talking, not behind a computer screen," said Fair.

It is obvious that Fair thinks he needs to use his verbal skills to compensate for what he perceives to be online wizardry.

"Normally I don't say a thing, but these kids are just too damn good these days, said Fair.
