Hellmuth Starts Fresh with Late Start

Fresh off his victory last night in Event 18: $2,500 Seven Card Razz, 12-time World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth has joined us after dinner. He's also still eating his dinner, which looks to be some form of Asian cuisine with chicken. He's seated with Tyson Marks, David Steicke, Joe Cassidy and Tommy Vedes.

On this hand, Hellmuth saw a flop with Vedes, Marks and two other players. The flop was {Q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Vedes checked. Marks checked next and the third player also checked. Hellmuth fired a bet and the player behind him raised. Vedes and Marks called, the next player folded, then Hellmuth called.

The turn card was the {3-Diamonds} and paired the board. Action was checked by Vedes, Marks and Hellmuth before the last player fired a bet. All three called. On the {K-Diamonds} river, everyone checked.

Hellmuth turned over the {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and said, "I have jacks and an ace deuce," although there was no qualifying low. Marks tabled the {Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for a flush and won the pot.

After the hand, there was some discussion about what each player had. After all was said, Hellmuth commented, "I only had a Phil Hellmuth hand — a big pair and ace-deuce, that's all."
