Double for Marzicola

Joseph Marzicola
Joseph Marzicola

Joseph Marzicola raised to 70,000 from the button and was quickly faced with a three-bet by Dylan Hortin. Instead of simply calling Marzicola moved all in for 920,000 and was called by Hortin.

Marzicola: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Hortin: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The board came {2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{k-Spades}{A-Hearts} and with the queen on the flop Marzicola was basically guaranteed a double up. Hortin was forced to send over a huge chunk of his stack and has now dipped below the two million mark.

Nicholson Takes One

David Nicholson opened to 65,000 on the button and Joseph Marzicola defended his big blind.

The flop came down {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and both checked through to the {7-Clubs} turn. A check from Marzicola led to a bet of 70,000 from Nicholson. Marzicola called and the {8-Spades} hit the river. Another Marzicola check led to a bet of 190,000 from Nicholson.

"Wish I was slow playing a big hand," said Marzicola as he folded.

"Well we all feel that way when we have to fold the river," laughed Matt Stout.

Great Call for Steinberg

Dylan Hortin opened the action from under the gun and made it 60,000 to anyone willing to pay to see a flop. Both blinds obliged and Joseph Marzicola made the call from the small blind, and Max Steinberg did the same from the big blind.

The flop came {K-Spades}{k-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and all three players checked. The {5-Hearts} on the turn saw both blinds check and Hortin fire out 85,000. Marzicola folded and Steinberg made the call. The {10-Diamonds} on the river allowed for Steinberg to check, and Hortin to bet out 155,000.

This prompted Steinberg to go deep into the tank pondering what course of action was best. In the end though Steinberg made the call and flipped over {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for two-pair, kings and nines. Steinberg easily had Hortin beat, as all Hortin could produce was {8-Spades}{7-Spades}.

Stout Doubles Through Gerber

Action folded to Matt Stout on the button and he went all in for 405,000. Samuel Gerber was in the big blind after mulling it over for about 60 seconds, he called with {A-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

Stout tabled {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and scored the double up when the board rolled out {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}.

"It's never easy," said a relieved Stout after he dodged the flush and straight draw. "I'm actually sweating."

Steinberg Values

Matt Stout raised it up to 90,000 from the hijack and Max Steinberg called from the big blind.

The flop came {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{j-Clubs} leading to a Steinberg check and a 120,000 bet from Stout. Steinberg made the call and both players were witness to the {8-Clubs} on the turn. It was here that both players checked.

The {10-Hearts} on the river saw Steinberg take control with a tiny bet of 65,000. Stout made the call and Steinberg flipped over {j-Spades}{7-Clubs} for a straight.

Steinberg Takes From Gerber

Samuel Gerber opened to 100,000 on the button and Max Steinberg three-bet to 290,000 from the big blind. A call from Gerber landed a {5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop.

Steinberg meticulously gathered chips for a bet and made it 330,000 for Gerbal to call. He didn't though, quickly folding his hand.
