Kihara Doubles Beevers, then Doubles Through Smith

On the first hand, Joe Beevers was all in holding {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{9-Spades}, and Naoya Kihara had {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Hearts}, and Beevers doubled to around 91,000.

Kihara was left with just 30,000 or so, and got that in against Micah Smith. Kihara was ahead this time with {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, and held against Smith's {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, when the board came {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}.

Crawford Out Right Before Dinner

Sammy Farha limped in from under the gun, David Callaghan called in the cutoff, and Brandon Crawford raised the pot on the button. Farha and Crawford called.

The flop came down {8-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades}, and Farha checked. Callaghan moved all in, and Crawford called for less. Farha mucked, and the hands were opened.

Finkelstein Eliminated, Hand-for-Hand Play Begins

David Finkelstein called a raised from Jason Mercier, who was on the button, and the dealer fanned {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts}. Finkelstein quickly moved all in, and Mercier instantly called.

Finkelstein{a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Mercier{a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

Mercier's two pair was ahead of Finkselstein's, and the {2-Diamonds} on the turn changed nothing. The {7-Diamonds} on the river gave Mercier a full house, and Finkelstein was eliminated.

"Good game," Mercier offered.

With Finkelstein's elimination, we are now on the bubble and will enter hand-for-hand play.

Six Hands

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

We've played six hands without any major pots or eliminations. As soon as we witness either, you'll be the first to know!

Seventh Hand

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

On the seventh hand, Adam Kornuth and Sammy Farha were heads up with the board reading {a-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Kornuth led for 16,000 from the blinds, and Farha raised to 66,000.

"Pot," Kornuth announced, raising it to 165,000.

Farha sunk into the tank, and since every other table had finished their hand, a crowd began to gather around the table. Farha thought for nearly two minutes before folding {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} face up.

After the hand, the tournament director warned all spectators that they're not allowed to wander around the tournament area during hand-for-hand play.

Twelfth Hand

Joe Kushner opened to 13,000, and Michan Smith called on the button. The flop came {2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts}, and Kushner led for 23,000. Smith called.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds}, and Kushner led for 38,000. Smith raised the pot - which took some time to figure out. With the help of Matthew Kirk and Huck Seed however, the amount was determined to be 147,000 on top. Kushner released, and Smith won the pot.

"Trying to go out on the bubble?" Seed asked with a smile.

"If I bust, I bust," Smith returned.
