And the newest World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner is... Ronnie Bardah!

Coming into the day, Bardah was dead last in chips, which was much in part to losing some big pots towards the end of Day 2. Never the one to let obstacles deter him from reaching his goal, Bardah fought and fought hard. He walked into the Amazon Room with a smile on his face and went right to work, doubling up the first hand and picking up steam from there. Before anyone knew what had happened, Bardah was right in the thick of it all.

When seven players remained after the elimination of Rep Porter in eighth place, play was relocated to the feature stage in the Pavilion Room and Bardah sat second in chips. He stayed in that spot for a good portion of time while Vincent Gironda led the way. Gironda had led after Day 1 and Day 2 as well.

A little under an hour after Limit Hold'em specialist Terrence Chan fell in seventh place, Bardah overtook Gironda for the chip lead by a slight margin. He flopped trip tens and turned a full house before getting a lot of value from his opponent, Gironda. From there, he put his foot on the gas and extended himself from the pack.

The man nicknamed "RoNasty" was the first player over a million and he reached that mark while play was still five-handed. The more the chips were pushed Bardah's way, the more aggression he exhibited. But then, the dinner break came and Marco Johnson came back with a fury.

The show after dinner was the Bardah-Johnson Show, with Gironda taking a seat in the audience as his stack was blinded away. When he finally found a hand to compete with, he couldn't beat Johnson and was eliminated in third place.

Heads up between Johnson and Bardah started with Johnson holding a slight edge, but the battle flopped back and back nearly every hand. To say Bardah was the crowd favorite would be an understatement. His rail was two to three bodies deep and encompassed nearly the entire stage. Every pot Bardah won was followed by a massive uproar while his friends cheered him to victory.

Bardah also made hands, plenty of them. He flopped trips with the {Q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, made a flush on the river holding the {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} when a fourth club came in, smashed sixes full of fours in a big pot and then nailed another flush with the {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Johnson just couldn't get anything going and when he did, it was going Bardah's way a bit more. But Johnson stayed tough and didn't go away easily.

On the final hand, Johnson raised on the button and Bardah three-bet from the big blind. Johnson called and a flop of {5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs} followed. Bardah bet and Johnson called. The turn was the {A-Clubs} and that's when the money went in. Johnson held a flush draw with the {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Bardah two pair with the {A-Hearts}{4-Spades}. All Bardah needed was no club on the river and the bracelet would be his.

His rail was on their feet, pushing hard against the ropes to get a closer look. They chanted for no club to fall and guess what, they all got their wish. The {A-Spades} landed on the river and Bardah made a full house to secure the victory. He threw his arms up in the air triumphantly, shook the hand of Johnson with congratulations and then jumped into a mob of arms hugging him on the rail. Bardah did it.

Bardah mobbed by his friends after his win

Coming back from dead last in chips to battle heads up with the man who was second to last to start the day proved to be a great story. In the end, the WSOP title went to Bardah — his first — and he pocketed $182,088.

Prior to this summer, Bardah took a few months off from poker to travel the world and train Muay Thai. He believes it has helped him keep a clear and focused mind at the table, while teaching him a lot about life in general. Bardah recommends the training for everyone and our guess is a lot of people may follow in his foot steps.

Congratulations to all of the winners, but especially to the man from Brockton, Massachusetts, Ronnie Bardah. He's an East Coast grinder who cut his teeth in the game of Limit Hold'em and prefers short-handed play, making it only fitting that his first WSOP gold bracelet was earned in just that game.

Until next time, the PokerNews team would like to thank you for following along and goodnight from Las Vegas!

Marco Johnson Eliminated in 2nd Place ($112,525)

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante
Marco Johnson - 2nd place
Marco Johnson - 2nd place

Marco Johnson opened with a raise from the button, and Ronnie Bardah three-bet in response. Johnson called, and the flop came {5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Bardah bet and Johnson called. Bardah bet again after the {A-Clubs} turn, and Johnson raised. Bardah reraised, and Johnson called with the rest of his stack.

Johnson: {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Bardah: {A-Hearts}{4-Spades}

Bardah had the advantage, although a club could save Johnson. The large crowd assembled on the Pavilion stage rose as one. Excited shouts filled this end of the room, with Bardah's huge rail making the most noise.

The dealer burned a card and turned over the river — the {A-Spades} — improving Bardah to a full house. After starting the day 10th of 10 in chips, Bardah had completed his comeback to win! And Johnson, who began 9th out of 10, had finished runner-up.

Big Lead for Bardah

Ronnie Bardah
Ronnie Bardah

Ronnie Bardah raised, Marco Johnson three-bet, and Bardah called. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades}, Johnson bet, and Bardah called. The turn then brought the {5-Diamonds}, perhaps a harmless seeming card, but one that brought a lot of action. Johnson led, Bardah raised, then Johnson three-bet in response. Bardah quickly made it four big bets to go, and Johnson called.

The river was the {3-Spades} and Johnson checked this time. Bardah bet, Johnson called, and Bardah showed {Q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for trip deuces. Johnson mucked, and Bardah has now grabbed a better than 3-to-1 chip advantage.

Vincent Gironda Eliminated in 3rd Place ($73,040)

Vincent Gironda - 3rd place
Vincent Gironda - 3rd place

Vincent Gironda battled valiantly with his short stack since the players returned from dinner break, surviving being all in a couple of times with a chop and a win.

Then came a hand in which Gironda called down bets by Marco Johnson on each street as the board came {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Johnson tabled {A-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for aces and Gironda mucked, leaving the latter with about 80,000.

Soon Gironda engaged in a series of preflop bets with Johnson, and Gironda was all in again.

Gironda was the one with {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} this time, and he was hoping his hand would hold versus Johnson's {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}. But the flop came {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} to pair Johnson. The turn was the {9-Spades} and river the {3-Diamonds}, and Gironda's Event 40 run ended in third place.

"18-to-1 and 20-to-1!" said Johnson to Bardah with a smile as they readied for heads-up play.

Johnson was referring to the betting odds on the two of them to start play today. Having put some money on either would've been a nice bet today — they were 9th and 10th out of 10 in chips to start the day!

Brent Wheeler Eliminated in 4th Place ($48,828)

Brent Wheeler - 4th place
Brent Wheeler - 4th place

Ronnie Bardah opened from the button, then Brent Wheeler three-bet from the small blind, forcing a fold from Vincent Gironda. Bardah asked how much Wheeler had left — not quite three small bets — then four-bet, and Wheeler called.

When the flop came {7-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, Wheeler bet, Bardah raised, and Wheeler called with what he had left. Bardah had {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for sevens while Wheeler needed help with {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. The turn was the {10-Hearts} and river the {5-Spades}, and Wheeler was eliminated.

Bardah continues to maintain the advantage as we begin three-handed play.

Sorel Mizzi Eliminated in 5th Place ($33,541)

Sorel Mizzi - 5th place
Sorel Mizzi - 5th place

Ronnie Bardah opened from the cutoff, and when Sorel Mizzi three-bet from the button it left Mizzi with but a single pink (5,000) chip behind. It folded to Vincent Gironda in the big blind who called, and Bardah called as well.

All three checked the {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop. The turn brought the {2-Spades}, and when it checked to Mizzi he tossed out his last chip, with both of his opponents calling. Gironda and Bardah checked down the {4-Hearts} river, and the trio opened their hands.

Gironda: {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Bardah: {A-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Mizzi: {A-Spades}{3-Clubs}

Mizzi winced as he saw Bardah had paired his four on the river to beat his own small pair, then wished all luck as he parted.

Bardah Tops One Million

"RoNasty"
"RoNasty"

After a Ronnie Bardah open from the cutoff, Vincent Gironda defended his big blind, then check-raised Bardah following the {2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop. Bardah responded with a three-bet, and Gironda called.

The turn brought the {K-Clubs} and Gironda checked. Bardah bet and Gironda called. The river was the {7-Hearts}, and again Gironda checked, Bardah bet, and Gironda called.

Bardah turned over {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} for kings, and Gironda mucked. That one carries Bardah up over a million and back into the chip lead over second-place Gironda.

Hans Minocha - 6th place
Hans Minocha - 6th place

It folded to Vincent Gironda in the cutoff who peered across the table, looking over Hans Minocha sitting in the big blind with a short stack. Gironda raised, then Marco Johnson made it three bets from the button. It folded to Minocha who checked his cards, then decided to reraise himself, a bet that committed his entire stack of 59,000. Both Gironda and Johnson called.

The flop came {3-Spades}{A-Spades}{10-Spades}. Gironda checked, Johnson bet, and Gironda called. The turn brought a fourth spade, the {8-Spades}, and both players checked. They again checked the {8-Diamonds} river.

All three players had made flushes. Minocha had {6-Hearts}{4-Spades}, Gironda had {A-}{5-Spades}, and Johnson had the best of the three with {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades} to drag the main pot plus the small side pot. Meanwhile, Hans Minocha's supporters gave him a round of applause to acknowledge his sixth-place finish.

RoNasty Snatches the Chip Lead from Gironda

Ronnie Bardah
Ronnie Bardah

Action folded to Vincent Gironda on the button and he put in a raise. Ronnie "RoNasty" Bardah called from the big blind and the flop came down {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Bardah checked and Gironda fired a bet. Gironda check-raised and Gironda called.

The turn brought the {K-Diamonds} and Bardah bet. Gironda put in a raise, but Bardah came right back with a reraise. Gironda took a few moments to think and then called.

The {8-Spades} completed the board on the river and Bardah stuck out another bet. Gironda made the call.

Bardah tabled the {K-Clubs}{10-Spades} for a full house on the turn after flopping trips. Gironda mucked his hand and Bardah raked in the pot to take the chip lead.

From under the gun, the recently-crippled Terrence Chan raised. Sorel Mizzi reraised from the next seat and then action got back to Chan and he called all in for 35,000.

Chan: {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Mizzi: {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The flop, turn and river ran out {A-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and Chan was eliminated in seventh place just short of the official final table for $17,107.
