Rocco Can Wait All F***in' Day

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Brandon Cantu (Event #9)
Brandon Cantu (Event #9)

Michael Rocco and Brandon Cantu were heads up on a board of {q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades}{6-Clubs}. There was around 30,000 in the middle, and both players checked.

"King-high," Cantu announced, as he was first to table his cards.

Rocco didn't budge.

"King-high," Cantu echoed.

"Table your hand," Rocco told him.

This angered Cantu, who held his cards up but wouldn't table them.

"Come on," Daniel Negreanu piped up. "It's the rules, Brandon."

"I'll wait all f***in' day," Rocco told Cantu, who finally showed {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for king-high.

Rocco showed {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for a pair of aces, and scooped the pot.

Negreanu tried to tell Cantu that some of the online players don't follow the etiquette of showdowns, but Cantu was sure that Rocco had some sort of vendetta.

"He wants to embarrass me," Cantu said. "He's stomping all over my mound."

The latter was a baseball reference we believe, and at this point a floorperson had arrived.

"Let's not insult one another," he told the table, trying to calm everyone down.

Erick Lindgren looked at him deadpan. "F*** Daniel Negreanu."

Most of the table laughed, while Rocco and Cantu still seemed to be steaming a bit from their little confrontation. We'll see if the two butt heads again as we near the bubble and heads-up play.

Watson Knows His Dog Well

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

On a board of {6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} Barry "Big Dog" Lang bet out 5,000 in Mike Watson. Watson called and the two saw a river of the {6-Diamonds}. Lang bet out again this time for 17,000. Watson called and flipped up {q-}{9-} for a pair of queens. That was good as Lang only had king-high. Watson with one of the chip leads has 210,000 while Lang went back down to an average stack of 69,000.

Lahkov Stacking Chips

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Alexander Lakhov opened to 2,600 from the cut off and Mike Watson made it 8,000 right behind him on the button. The blinds got out of their way and the decision was back on Lahkov. The player from Saint Petersburg made it 16,800 to go and Watson called. Both players checked on the {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop and they both knocked on the table as well as the {3-Diamonds} appeared on the turn. The river was the {K-Spades} and Lahkov bet 11,000. Watson called reluctantly and mucked as his neighbor showed {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

Binger Doubles Through Metaal

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Nick Binger and Govert Metaal had their cards flipped as Binger was all in preflop. Binger held {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and Metaal {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Binger started getting his things together as the flop missed with {3-Spades}{8-Spades}{a-Clubs}. The turn came the {k-Diamonds} and with that Binger sat back down. {q-Clubs} on the river made it official and Binger was back in the game with 81,000. Metaal shot down to 70,000 after the hand.
