Masek Given False Hope, Then Crippled

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Alex Masek moved all in from early position, and a player called from the small blind.

Masek: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Small blind: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}

Things looked very rosy for Masek when the flop came {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{k-Clubs}, giving Masek a flush draw. A turn of {8-Spades} opened up some chopping possibilities for his opponent, and a {k-Hearts} river shipped him the chop.

A short time later, he moved all in again and was called once again.

Masek: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Opponent: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, and six-time World Series of Poker Circuit winner Masek was eliminated.

Peters Finishes Chicotsky

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

David Chicotsky opened to 20,000 from late position, and Tobias Peters moved all in from the big blind. Chicotsky called off his chips.

Chicotsky: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Peters: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

It was a race, but Peters pulled ahead when {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flopped. A {2-Spades} came on the turn, and a {q-Hearts} on the river, and Chicotsky was finished.

Obrien Sends Two Out

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Tobias Peters opened to 3,200 from early position, and a middle-position player with 16,100 moved all in. Patrick Obrien, in the cutoff, shipped it as well for 52,500. The player on the button looked pained as he contemplated a decision, and he finally called off his last 8,500. Peters leaned back in his chair and thought for about a minute.

"I...fold," he finally said.

Obrien: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Middle position: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Button: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

A flop of {3-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{3-Spades} left the short stacks drawing thin. A {3-Hearts} opened up some chopping outs, but the river was a {2-Clubs}, and Obrien had gotten two birds with one stone.

Master's Lessons End

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Men Nguyen lost to a full house.
Men Nguyen lost to a full house.

Men "The Master" Nguyen got it all in with {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} against an opponent with {j-Clubs}{3-Spades} in a battle of the blinds. His opponent improved to a pair of threes on the {7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} flop, and a {3-Clubs} turn gave him trips. Nguyen needed a nine, but the river came {j-Diamonds}, filling his opponent up and sending The Master to the rail.
