Straight for Porter

Level 6 : 400/800, 0 ante

Rep Porter opened the preflop action with a raise, and JC Tran three-bet. Porter called, and the dealer spread {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for the flop. Porter check-called Tran's bet, then did so again on the {9-Hearts} turn. Both players checked the {j-Clubs} on the river. Porter turned over {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a rivered straight, and Tran mucked.

Porter was up to 25,000 after the hand, and Tran had 9,000 in front of him.

Ace Good for Mueller

Level 6 : 400/800, 0 ante

We arrived at the table on the turn as Greg Mueller bet into two players with the board reading {k-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. One player folded, but Bill Chen called, and the {3-Diamonds} hit the table on the river. Mueller bet out again, and Chen thought for a few moments before reluctantly pushing forward a call. Mueller tabled {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, for an ace kicker to go with the quad three on the board. Chen mucked his cards, and Mueller raked in the pot.

One for Lisandro; Pescatori Gone

Level 6 : 400/800, 0 ante

A middle-position player opened for 800 only to have Jeff Lisandro three-bet to 1,200 from the hijack. The rest of the players folded, the middle-position player called and it was heads-up action to the {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop. The middle-position player proceeded to check-call a bet and did the same on the {4-Diamonds} turn.

Lisandro then bet another 800 when his opponent checked the {A-Spades} river and it was enough to get the job done as the middle-position player sent his cards to the muck.

Bloch Takes One from Akkari

Level 6 : 400/800, 0 ante

Andre Akkari raised from late position, and Andy Bloch three-bet from the small blind. Akkari called, and the players saw the flop heads-up. After the dealer spread {k-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, Bloch bet out, and Akkari called. That action repeated itself on both the {3-Spades} turn and the {a-Spades} river. Bloch then tabled {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a pair of aces, and Akkari mucked his cards.

Despite the hit, Akkari still sits with 36,000, and Bloch is now up to 14,000.

Mizzi on the Rebound

Level 6 : 400/800, 0 ante

Action folded to Sorel Mizzi in the hijack and he put in a raise. The player in the cutoff then three-bet to 1,200, the button and blinds all folded, and Mizzi made the call to see a flop of {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Mizzi check-called a bet and then both players checked the {4-Hearts} turn. When the {6-Spades} completed the board on the river, Mizzi led out and the cutoff snap-folded.

It wasn't much of a hand but it gave us a good excuse to update you on his chip stack.

Qutami Sends Santoro Back to Brazil

Level 6 : 400/800, 0 ante

A short-stacked Mothel Santoro, who hails from Brazil, raised to 800 from the under-the-gun position only to have Danny Qutami three-bet to 1,200. Action folded back around to Santoro, he made the call, and the flop came down {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, which both players checked.

When the dealer burned and turned the {3-Hearts}, Santoro bet and then called when Qutami raised to 1,600. Santoro then checked the {8-Spades} river and Qutami bet 800. Santoro, who only had 1,400, raised and Qutami snap-called with the {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} for a flopped set. Santoro showed the {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a pair of aces and quickly exited the tournament area.
