Weisner Chops a Pot

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Melanie Weisner opened to 1,200 from the hijack and was called by the cutoff. The button and blinds folded and the dealer got to work spreading the {3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{J-Hearts} flop into view.

Weisner continued with a 1,500 continuation bet and was quickly called by her sole opponent. The {9-Spades} turn slowed both players down and they checked their option to bet. The {Q-Clubs} was greeted by a 2,500 bet from Weisner and a snap-call by her opponent.

Weisner flipped over {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for a straight to the king, and her opponent turned over {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the same straight.

Peters Scoops Up a Pot

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

The board read out {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. David Peters was facing a bet into an already developed pot. He took quite some time to make a decision. Once he figured it out he decided to call. The player did not show much and Peters showed {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for a set. He scooped up the pot and brought his stack up to 23,000.

Boatman's Creature Comforts

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Barny Boatman has been moved to table Gold #7 and has in front of him a jar of Marmite, not the typical card protector that's for sure.

"You'll see a change in me now I have this," said Boatman when we asked where he got the yeast-based food product from. Maybe we will, Boatman is currently armed with 18,000 betting tokens.

Pateychuk Loses a Flip

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

There was a raise to 1,200 from under the gun and that looked to be the last of the action as each player folded int turn to the player in the hijack seat. He moved all in for 4,450 and Andrey Pateychuk called in the cutoff. The blinds and original raiser folded and Pateychuk discovered he was racing with pocket queens versus {A-Spades}{K-Spades}.

It was a race he would lose because the {A-Clubs} was the second card onto the flop. Pateychuk, an EPT and WPT champion, was drawing dead by the turn as his opponent had improved to a full house.
