Better Badugi for Hui

Level 9

Badugi

We caught up with the action on the third and final draw, with Phillip Hui having been all in and standing pat since early on and three other players still vying for the pot. Jason Lester stood pat as did Hui (again), then Scott Nguyen drew one card.

It then appeared as though Joseph Deluca, acting last, stood pat as well, and Lester inaugurated the final betting round by saying he was checking. Deluca then said he hadn't decided whether to draw a card or not, and the floor was called to sort out the situation. Deluca was allowed to draw one card, then Lester checked again and it checked all the way around.

"I have a nine," said Lester, tabling his {9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}, but Hui had him beat with an 8 Badugi with his {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}. As there was an all-in player both Nguyen and Deluca were made to show their hands, but neither had a winner, and Hui survived.

Kim Fills Up, Trips Up Tran

Level 9

Stud

J.C. Tran and Young Kim were battling through a seven-card stud hand, having reached seventh street with Tran showing {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Kim {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}. Kim bet dark on seventh, and after the final down cards were dealt Tran tanked a bit before calling Kim's bet.

Kim quickly flipped over {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. "Fives full," intoned the dealer, and Tran mucked as the chips were swept Kim's way.

Deeb Folds On Seventh

Level 9

Stud

Konstantin Puchkov{x-}{x-} / {J-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} (FOLDED)
Scott Clements{x-}{x-} / {A-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} (FOLDED)
Freddy Deeb{x-}{x-} / {7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} / {x-}
Joe Cassidy{x-}{x-} / {5-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{2-Spades} / {x-}

Steve Zolotow had the {3-Spades} showing and was the bring in. Joe Cassidy and Scott Clements called and action hit Konstantin Puchkov who put out a raise. Freddy Deeb called the raise, Zolotow folded, and Cassidy and Clements tagged along to fourth street.

Puchkov continued out with a bet on fourth and Deeb quickly cut out a raise. Cassidy flat called the raise and Clements got out of the way. Puchkov decided to muck his hand as well and we were heads up to fifth.

Cassidy check-called another bet from Deeb on fifth and the two both checked sixth street. Cassidy led out on seventh, leaving himself with what looked to be around just one big bet behind. Deeb ultimately decided to fold his hand and Cassidy picked up the pot.

Cassidy now sits on about 13,000 while Deeb has fallen to 29,000.

Three Kings for RWIII

Level 10

Omaha-8

With the board showing {8-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}, Clemens Manzano check-called a river bet by Robert Williamson III, then watched as "RWIII" tabled {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{2-Spades} for a set of kings. Manzano flipped over a couple of his cards — a {K-} and a {J-} — and exhaled as he pushed his hand dealerward.

Sklansky Survives Split with Singer

Level 10

Omaha-8

Down to less than 2,400, David Sklansky raised from the cutoff, David Singer three-bet from the button, and it folded back to Sklansky who called with the last of his chips.

The two players with identical initials tabled their cards, and Sklansky showed {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} to Singer's {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. The board rolled out {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, meaning Sklansky won the high with a set of aces and Singer took the low with an 8-6-4-3-A.

Gorodetsky Gone

Level 10

Stud-8

Ilya Gorodetsky check-called a bet from Orjan Skommo on third street, then led with a bet on fourth and when Skommo raised, Gorodetsky called with the last of his chips.

Gorodetsky wound up drawing out two pair (jacks and treys) as his final (re-ordered) board was {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}{J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. But alas for Gorodetsky, his opponent had {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} in the hole and {4-Spades}{8-Hearts} showing, then drew {4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts} to make a better two pair (kings and fours) and end the Russian's run.

Fitoussi's Domination Continues

Level 10

Pot-Limit Omaha

Bruno Fitoussi opened with a raise to 2,000 and Aaron Schaff called from the button. The two took in a flop of {A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Fitoussi continued out for 2,000. Schaff stuck around to see the turn.

The dealer tapped the table and produced the {3-Clubs} on fourth street and both players checked to see the {7-Spades} finish off the board. Fitoussi announced a pot-sized bet for 8,800 total and Schaff went into the tank. He mulled over the decision for almost a minute before finally speaking up.

"Alright," said Schaff. "I JUST call."

He dropped in chips and heaved a sigh when Fitoussi showed {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for aces full of deuces. Schaff shook his head and showed {7-}{7-} for a rivered full house. Fitoussi was able to scoop up the pot and now sits on a massive stack of about 118,000.
