"I Have No Problem With You, Your Play is Bad"

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Nadar Kakhmazov moved all in for 188,000 on a flop of {9-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades}.

"I call," shrugged his opponent, Mark Davis. "I have a straight."

He showed {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for a king-high straight, and Kakhmazov tabled {9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for a pair of nines and a three-high flush draw.

"No spade!" Jared Bleznick got up and shouted suddenly. "No spade!"

The turn was a spade - the {5-Spades} - and the {7-Hearts} completed the board, doubling Kakhmazov, but the Russian was angry that Bleznick was openly anti-sweating him.

"No spade, huh?" he asked Bleznick, who ignored him.

"Look at this hand!" Bleznick shouted to anyone that would listen. "Deuce-three of spades! This is how the Russians do it!"

Fellow Russian Alex Kravchenko had wandered over at this point to see what the commotion was all about. He clapped Kakhmazov on the back in support, and chuckled at Bleznick's filibuster. Bleznick tried to get Kravchenko to admit that only a Russian would play such a hand, but all Kravchenko did was smile silently.

"You're next with this hand," Kakhmazov warned Bleznick.

Bleznick sat back down, and turned to the Russian with a serious look on his face.

"I have no problem with you," Belznick told him, sincerely. "Your play is bad."

Collado Cut Down

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Jan Collado just got the last of his chips in the middle against Alexey Rybin following a {5-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop and holding {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for an open-ended straight draw. Meanwhile, Rybin had flopped a set of sixes with {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

The {8-Hearts} turn and {A-Spades} river provided no help to Collado, and he's out in 30th place.

Watson's Quick Slide Ends in 29th

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Mike Watson began the day second in chips, but after losing a big all-in hand with {A-}{A-}{x-}{x-} to Tom Marchese's {K-}{K-}{x-}{x-} his stack was more than cut in half.

It wasn't too much longer after that when Watson found himself with kings — {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{3-Spades}, to be precise — and putting the last of his stack in following a {2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop against Joseph Cheong. Unfortunately for Watson, Cheong had flopped a set of nines with {J-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and after the {2-Spades} turn and {A-Diamonds} river, Watson was out in 29th.

By contrast, Cheong has had a much better time of it on Day 3 so far. He started the day with one of the shorter stacks but is now suddenly up near the leaders.

Vedhara Vanquished in 28th

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Within moments of Mike Watson's bustout, Rickie Vedhara followed him to the rail in 28th place after having also gotten the last of his stack in against an opponent who had flopped a set.

The board read {K-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, and Vedhara had {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and hopes of filling a flush draw against the Gjergj Sinishtaj's set of kings with {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}. But the turn and river brought two deuces — {2-Spades}{2-Clubs} — and Vedhara is out.

The remaining 27 players are now redrawing for new seats around the final three tables.

Mark Davis Eliminated in 27th Place ($26,124)

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

On the final hand before the draw, Mark Davis was eliminated. We missed the action in the confusion of players standing and grabbing chip racks, but when we arrived at the table, Davis had {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} in front of him. Lasell King was scooping the pot with {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, and an unknown player received nothing with {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

King, who started the day with the shortest stack, is now above 300,000 chips, while Davis hit the rail.

On one of the first hands after the redraw, Nicolas Faure and Andy Miller were all in and at risk preflop against James Wiese.

Faure: {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Miller: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Wiese: {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

The board rolled out {9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, and Wiese eliminated the two players with a seven-high straight. He now sits with over one million chips.

Eyes On Alaei

Daniel Alaei
Daniel Alaei

"Excuse me... is that Daniel Alaei?"

So asked a railbird of us just now. There's a large crowd gathered — mainly thanks to the Main Event — but many have found themselves intrigued by the last three tables of Event #61 also playing out here in the Amazon ballroom.

Alaei's huge stack of chips likely has caught the eye of many railbirds, too, as its bigger than anyone else's in Event #61 or the Main Event. Alaei recently catapulted up over the 1 million-chip mark, and in fact was sitting with more than 1.5 million for a short while before giving a few chips back to his table here at the start of Level 20.

Alaei earned a big boost at the expense of James Wiese, who had been up over 1 million but now sits with about 650,000. The three-time bracelet winner is looking to earn a second title in this same tournament, as he won the $10K PLO event back in 2010.

King, Kovalchuk Chop It Up

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Lasell King raised to 25,000 from middle position and Oleksii Kovalchuk called from the big blind. The flop came {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, Kovalchuk checked, King continued with a bet, and Kovalchuk called.

The pot was about 115,000 at that point, and when the {8-Hearts} fell on the turn Kovalchuk promptly made a pot-sized bet. King sat in contemplation for about a minute, then said he was raising all in and Kovalchuk quickly called with just about all of his stack.

Kovalchuk had {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and King {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. The {7-Spades} fell on the river, giving both players the same straight and they split the pot.
