Event #61:$10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha
Day 2 Started
Welcome back to Day 2 of the last preliminary event of the summer, Event #61: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha, where 168 players return with hopes of winning the last bracelet to be awarded at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino this summer, as the winner of the Main Event will not be determined until later this year.
Of all of those hopefuls Matt O'Donnell returns to the most chips today with 269,200, with 2010 WSOP Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel, Jared Bleznick, Alexey Rybin, and Joseph Cheong also returning to big stacks of more than 240,000 each.
Lurking also on the first page of the counts are Mike Watson, Christian Harder, and NBA great Paul Pierce, all of whom will begin play with more than twice the average stack.
All are seeking the bracelet, of course, but there's a lot of cash to be won as well, as the large field of 386 together created a total prize pool of $3,628,400 to be divided among the final 45. The winner is scheduled to receive a cool $852,692, representing one of the larger prizes that will be won this summer.
The PLO action resumes at 2 p.m. local time. Come back then as we find out together who will make it to tomorrow's third and final day with a chance to win bracelet #61.
While we wait, here's Lynn Gilmartin to catch us up on all that's happening currently as the 2013 WSOP moves into its exciting final stretch.
Dreams do come true! Danielle Moon-Andersen landed a Full Tilt Poker sponsorship for the WSOP Main Event.

Most of the players are in their seats and the first hands of Day 2 are being dealt. The plan today will be to play 11 one-hour levels.
Christian Harder raised to 2,500 from late position, Keith Lehr called from the small blind, then Emil Patel reraised to 10,000 from the big blind. Harder then made it 17,500 to go, earning a fold from Lehr. Patel thought about a minute, then called, leaving himself about 17,000 behind.
The flop came , and Patel promptly set all of his chips ahead of him to go all in. Harder called without much hesitation.
Patel had while Harder had . The turn was the and river the , meaning Patel ended with a diamond flush to survive.

Four players limped to see a flop come all low cards — — and all four checked around. The turn was another baby, the , and this time Jonathan Duhamel took a stab by firing 3,000 from the blinds in an effort to claim the pot.
It folded to Juha Helppi in the hijack who raised to 8,600, and when the button folded and the action was back on Duhamel, he didn't have to think to long before letting his hand go.
Duhamel still sits with roughly the stack with which he started the day, while Helppi has nearly doubled his chips since Level 9 began.

After finishing runner-up in Event #59: $2,500 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball late last night, Daniel Negreanu immediately jumped into this event to play a few levels before ending the night with a short stack.
Just now Negreanu watched as Philippe Clerc raised his button, then subsequent action saw Negreanu getting his stack in the middle before the flop with versus Clerc's . The flop came badly for Negreanu — — and after the turn and river Negreanu's brief Event #61 run came to end.
There's still more poker for "Kid Poker," obviously, as he tweeted just after busting:
