Onward, Ho

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Jared Bleznick raised to 5,200 from late position, and it folded to Vinh Ho in the big blind who reraised the pot. Bleznick repotted, and Ho called all in for 31,200 total.

Ho: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Bleznick: {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

The community cards came {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{J-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, which meant Ho had made a straight but Bleznick's club flush was better, knocking out Ho.

Selbst Out Thanks to Stout

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Vanessa Selbst's tourney run has come to a quick halt in Level 13 after losing an all-in encounter versus Matt Stout.

The pair had together gotten to a {7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop with Stout leading with a bet of 6,000 from middle position. Selbst raised to 23,000, Stout reraised the pot, Selbst did so in return, Stout pushed all in for 184,000 total, and Selbst called all in for 162,000.

Stout: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Selbst: {K-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Selbst had a straight flush draw, but Stout had the ace-high flush draw to go with his leading big pair. The turn brought the {Q-Clubs} to fill both players' flushes, leaving Selbst with just one out — the {6-Clubs} — left to survive. Alas for her, the river was the {A-Spades}, and she was eliminated.

Jetten Busts Two

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante
Brian Hastings (Day 1) - Eliminated
Brian Hastings (Day 1) - Eliminated

When we arrived at the table, Brian Hastings and a second player were all in and at risk against Peter Jetten. Jetten had both players covered by a wide margin, and also held the best hand.

Hastings: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Player: {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Jetten: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}, improving Jetten's hand to an ace-high flush, and eliminating Hastings and the third player.

Derwiche Done

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Imad Derwiche has been eliminated after having lost the last of his stack to Mihails Morozovs in a preflop all-in encounter.

Derwiche had {Q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Morozovs {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. The board then came {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{A-Clubs}, then {4-Diamonds}, then {10-Hearts}, with that river ten giving Morozovs trips and knocking out Derwiche.

Force Forces Fold

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Ismael Bojang and Leif Force had together built a pot before the {J-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop, then it was Bojang betting and Force raising all in for 44,000 total.

Bojang sat in thought as he eyed the 42,000 or so he had left behind. "I have the best hand," he said. "I'm in a gambling mood," responded said, which didn't appear to clarify the situation much for Bojang.

Finally Bojang folded, and while Force was the one who won the pot, Bojang sat with a wide grin as he continued to think about the hand.

Hastings Takes a Big Hit; Jetten Above 200K

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Petter Jetten and Brian Hastings were heads up on a flop of {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{7-Spades}. Jetten checked, Hastings fired out 14,000 into a pot of around 16,000, Jetten check-raised to 62,000, and Hastings moved all in for effectively 99,100. Jetten called.

Jetten: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Hastings: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The turn and river came {10-Hearts}, {9-Clubs} respectively, giving Jetten a straight, and he doubled to 214,200. Hastings plummeted to 28,000.

Chiu Chipping Up Nicely; Pierce Getting Shorter

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

There was a raise to 5,200 in early position, and three players called including Jared Bleznick, David Chiu, and Paul Pierce. All four players checked on a flop of {2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, and the turn was the {4-Hearts}. The original raiser checked, Bleznick tossed out 13,000, and only Chiu called.

The {6-Spades} completed the board, both players checked, and Chiu took down the pot with {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for a flush.

Condon Cut Down

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

A short-stacked Alexander Condon raised the pot to 8,400 from early position, and it folded around to a player on the button who called. Yevgeniy Timoshenko then sat in thought for about a half-minute in the small blind before declaring he was reraising the pot — a bet of 36,000.

The big blind quickly released his hand, Condon called all in for about 25,000 total, and after tanking for several minutes the button player said he was reraising all in for his stack of about 68,000 and Timoshenko quickly called.

Timoshenko tabled {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, Condon showed {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and the table expressed some surprise when the button player showed he had aces as well with {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}.

The board came {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Condon was eliminated as the other two chopped the pot.

Lehr Chipping Up; Patel Busts

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Before the break, Keith Lehr and Emil Patel were heads up on a flop of {2-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Patel called.

Both players checked when the {10-Hearts} turned, and the {j-Clubs} completed the board. Lehr checked, Patel fired out 18,600, and Lehr tank-called. Patel shook his head, then mucked when Lehr tabled {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for jacks and threes.

Patel was eliminated shortly thereafter.
