Erick Lindgren Hits River To Score Huge Double Up

Level 9 : 400/800, 0 ante
Erick Lindgren
Erick Lindgren

We get to the table with the board showing {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and the chips started flying between Erick Lindgren and his opponent in Seat 9. Lindgren snap-called his opponent's all in and the hands were turned over:

Lindgren: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for kings full of nines
Opponent: {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the same hand, kings full of nines

A queen or ten would give the pot to his opponent and eliminate Lindgren in the process. Lindgren could take the whole pot only with an ace on the river. He would get precisely that with the {A-Spades} and the player in Seat 9 threw his hands up in disgust while a relieved Lindgren could exhale and smile. Lindgren who had been down to 3,000 in chips earlier in the day was now stacking 88,000 in chips.

Daniel Buzgon Not Gone Yet

Level 9 : 400/800, 0 ante

Daniel Buzgon opened to 2,200 and found one caller who asked how much Buzgon had left before committing his chips. The flop came {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Buzgon led out for 4,000 and was called by his opponent. The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Buzgon put the rest of his chips into the middle and was quickly called by his opponent. "Kings and a flush draw," said Buzgon's foe as he tabled {K-Hearts}{K-}{X-Hearts}{X-}. Buzgon was ahead with his {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and would stay that way when the river was the {10-Spades}.

"I should have folded the flop," said Buzgon's opponent. "Nice hand Daniel."

Buzgon was up to 28,500 after winning that pot.

Kevin Saul Felts Corrie Wunstel on Last Hand Before Break

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante

With a flop of {K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, Kevin Saul led out for a bet of 2,300 and Corrie Wunstel moved all in for his last 4,600. The other two players in the hand folded and Saul made the call:

Kevin Saul: {K-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for kings and sixes and a flush draw
Corrie Wunstel: {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for an open ended straight draw

Wunstel was in bad shape and would be drawing dead after the {6-Diamonds} on the turn. Saul's stack moved to 55,000 with that pot.

Players are now on a 20-minute break.

Soulier Flops Big, Rivers Bigger

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante
Fabrice Soulier
Fabrice Soulier

We get to the table and Fabrice Soulier is in a hand with another player and the flop is {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. All of the chips are in the middle and Soulier's opponent had {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{X-Diamonds} but Soulier has flopped a monster with his {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a flopped straight. The turn is the {5-Spades} keeping Soulier in the lead. The {8-Spades} on the river gave Soulier a full house, fives full of eights, and he scooped the pot and moved to approximately 40,000 in chips.

Julio Marines Heads Up the Big Stacks

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante
Julio Marines
Julio Marines

Julio Marines raised from middle position and both blinds looked him up by calling. The flop came {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and it was checked to Marines who bet 1,000. The player in the small blind called and the player in the big blind folded.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and Marines' opponent checked and Marines bet 3,800. That was enough to induce a fold and send the pot to Marines, who after that hand garnered 90,000 in chips. That number is good enough for the chip lead at this point. Some of the other big stacks in the room include:
