Event #39: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em
Day 1 Started
Today the 2014 World Series of Poker will continue with Event #39: $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em. We expect a good mix of “average Joes” and seasoned pros for the mid-level buy-in event.
Last year, this event drew 1,072 entries and saw Sandeep Pulusani earn his first WSOP bracelet and $592,684 in prize money after topping a final table that included Niall Farrell, Mark Teltscher, and Nam Le.
As mentioned, we look for many notables to enter and make their push toward a coveted WSOP bracelet while tiptoeing through the minefield of amateurs and semi-pros that will be helping to swell the prize pool. Stay tuned over the next three days to see how things pan out.
The plan for today is to play 10 one-hour levels. Cards will be in the air at noon local time. Join us then as we bring you all the early action from Event #39: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em.

We didn't catch the action, but Barry Greenstein is seated at the same table as Glenn Lafaye and caught our attention to tell us how Lafaye chipped up even further.
Lafaye busted another player when his flopped set of threes ended up as quads, besting the straight of the eliminated player. Greenstein needled, "and Matt Affleck added some chips to the pot trying to rep a hand."
Lafaye is continuing to run hot here early.
