Kessler Scoops Steicke

Level 14

Omaha 8

On a {3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Spades} flop, David Steicke checked from the blinds and Allen Kessler bet. Steicke called and on the turn, the {7-Diamonds} hit. Steicke check-called again and the river was the {3-Hearts}.

Steicke checked a third time and Kessler bet. Steicke called and Kessler immediately announced, "Ace-deuce-seven," as he tabled {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{K-Clubs}.

Steicke stared at his cards for awhile, but eventually, he threw them into the muck.

Ashby vs. Bloch vs. Sion

Level 14

Omaha 8

Richard Ashby raised to 24,000 under-the-gun and Andy Bloch and Elior Sion called from the hijack and big blind, respectively. Two checks on the {q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{a-Spades} flop saw Bloch bet 12,000, and then both his opponents called. The action repeated itself on the {5-Diamonds} turn, albeit for 24,000, and then all three players checked the {10-Diamonds} river.

Sion simply mucked, and Ashby tabled the {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for two pair. It was good for the high, and then Bloch rolled over the {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for an emergency low.

2-7 Triple Draw

Abe Mosseri took one card on the second draw, Calvin Anderson called for two, and the former led out for a bet. Anderson called.

Both players took one card on the final draw then checked, and Mosseri fanned a queen; {q-}{8-}{5-}{3-}{2-}. Anderson flashed the {k-Hearts} before mucking.

"He's got to be the greatest," Matt Glantz said, ribbing Mosseri.

"They don't call me Great Abe for nothing," Mosseri responded, smiling.

The Legend's Run Ends

Level 14
Doyle Brunson
Doyle Brunson

Omaha 8

Doyle Brunson went through plenty of swings on Day 3 of this tournament but in the end, he couldn't get an upward trend going. On Brunson's final hand he raised and Brock Parker made the call.

The flop brought {A-}{2-}{10-}, as Parker relayed the hand to us, and Parker called a bet. On the turn, another {A-} hit and Parker put Brunson all-in for an additional 2,200 after he had bet. Brunson called and tabled {7-}{7-}{3-}{8-}, in need of help against Parker's {K-}{10-}{3-}{4-}.

The river brought a {J-} and Brunson hit the rail not too far from the money.

Flopping the World

Level 14
John Hennigan
John Hennigan

No-Limit Hold'em

After folding to three-bet shove from James Obst, John Hennigan was all in for 135,500 from the hijack seat. Obst called on the button, and the rest of the action folded through.

Hennigan: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Obst: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The dealer fanned {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, giving Hennigan an unbeatable straight flush, and the players at the table yelled "ohhhhh." The turn and river came {4-Clubs}, {4-Hearts} respectively, and Hennigan doubled to 290,500.

Obst dropped to 195,000.

Trip Sevens For Zhou

Level 14

Stud

Zhou: {x-}{x-} / {7-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} / {x-}
Sion: {x-}{x-} / {K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} / {x-}

Chun Lei Zhou completed with the {7-Diamonds} showing and Elior Sion made a raise from next door with the {K-Hearts}. Zhou called. Sion had first action again on fourth street and cut out a continuation . Sion called to see fifth and paired his fives. He checked over to Chou who fired out a bet. Sion came over the top with a check-raise and Chou made it three bets to go. Sion flatted.

On sixth street, both players checked, allowing them to see their final cards. Sion checked and Zhou cut out one final bet. Sion called, but mucked his cards after Zhou rolled over {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts} for trip sevens. Zhou pulled in the pot and is now flirting with one million in chips.

Two Limit Hold'em Hands Feat. Chris Klodnicki

Level 14

Limit Hold'em

On a flop of {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Chris Klodnicki check-called a bet from Calvin Anderson. He then did the same on the {5-Hearts} turn before checking for a third time on the {K-Diamonds} river. Anderson bet once again, and Klodnicki sprung to life with a check-raise. Anderson called but mucked when Klodnicki rolled over the {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} for a rivered pair of kings.

In the very next hand, a flop of {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop saw Abe Mosseri bet and then call a raise from Klodnicki. Mosseri then checked the {10-Spades} turn and Klodnicki bet. Mosseri check-raised, Klodnicki called, and then Mosseri bet on the {2-Spades} river. Klodnicki called but mucked when Mosseri tabled the {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for two pair.

Parker: {X-}{X-} / {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} / {X-}

No Showdown Needed

Level 14

Limit Hold'em

The dealer was pulling in bets on the turn of a {2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} board - it looked like two bets went in between Brandon Shack-Harris and David Oppenheim - and the river was the {6-Clubs}.

Shack-Harris tossed out another bet, and Oppenheim tanked for 90 seconds or so before finally folding.

Ashby and Martin Go Clubbin'

Level 14

No-Limit Hold'em

Jesse Martin opened for 18,000 under the gun only to have Richard Ashby three-bet all in from the button. The blinds both folded and Martin gave it some serious thought before dropping in a call.

Martin: {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Ashby: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Both players held clubs, but of course Ashby's were best. The board ended up running out a clean {6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and Ashby doubled through.
