Saechao Doubles, Fields Not

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Bastian Fischer had just doubled up through Kao Saechao a few minutes ago and now returned the favor. Saechao was at risk for 48,500 with {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Fischer looked him up with {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. On the {4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{A-Spades}{J-Hearts} board. the two pair of the German were only second best to the straight of his opponent.

Shortly after, Gary Fields moved all in against an open raise from Thomas Muehloecker and Neo Hoang called out of the big blind with {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}. Muehloecker folded and Fields was unable to improve with {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

Mitchell Runs into Kings

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Michael Spegal three-bet and called the all in of Santino Mitchell with {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. Mitchell was smiling while turning over {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and chatted with his rail, already knowing his odds of doubling up were quite slim.

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{A-Spades} and Mitchell was gone.

Andrew Sapiro
Andrew Sapiro

A very short stacked Andrew Sapiro moved all in from the button with {Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and one seat over, Jack Ward made the call with pocket tens. There were only low cards on the board but no straight, diamonds or trips for Sapiro and he was eliminated.

Only a few moments later, Thomas Muehloecker sat down in the very same seat.

Holley Bushwhacked

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Tod Holley was sitting in the small blind and one of his cards, the {k-Spades} was turned over as it was dealt to him and became the burn card. “Finally, pocket kings he joked.” as he received a replacement card.

It folded to Matt Salsberg on the button who opened for 23,000. Holley moved all in and it went back round to Salsberg who called.

Holley tabled {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} but saw the bad news as Salsberg turned over {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and Holley was gone.

Speicher and Cheng Busto

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Steve Gross doubled up with {K-}{10-} against the pocket jacks of Michael Marckx and then raised from early position. Eric Speicher moved all in for 65,500 with {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and was unable to improve against the {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} of Gross.

Shortly after, Ken Cheng moved all in from early position for what appeared to be 50,000 chips. Marckx was on the button and didn't pay attention, throwing in the chips for a standard raise. The floor was called and he could decide whether to call or forfeit his raising chips.

Marckx called and the players in the blinds folded. It was the {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} of Cheng and the {A-Spades}{6-Spades} of Marckx, the {6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{5-Spades} board gave Marckx two pair and he recovered the losses from before.

Harwood Eliminated in Huge Pot

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Loni Harwood
Loni Harwood

There was a raise to 8,000 and both Matthew Frampton as well as Loni Harwood called out of the blinds. On the {3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop, Frampton and Harwood check-called 14,000 and checked again the {9-Spades} on the turn.

The preflop raiser now bet 35,000 and Frampton called. Harwood moved all in for approximately 180,000 and the first opponent folded. Frampton gave it some thought, checked his stack again carefully and then announced the call.

Frampton: {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Harwood: {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

Both players had the straight and flush draw but Frampton was still ahead. The {6-Hearts} river would not change the outcome either and Harwood headed to the payout desk.
