Chait Can't Beat Four Pair

Level 10 : 400/800, 0 ante

Earlier in the day Craig Chait was left with just three chips and has since spun up that stack nicely, padding it out further after the following hand.

Chait raised from under the gun and picked up two callers in the hijack and the small blind. A continuation bet followed on the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{10-Hearts} flop and both opponents called. After the {9-Diamonds} turn, the small blind check-folded to a second barrel while the hijack called once more.

The {3-Diamonds} river ended up without any bet and Chait was shown {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. "I have four pair," the hijack joked and Chait sent his cards into the muck.

Ohel Suffers a Setback

Level 9 : 300/600, 0 ante

The showdown had already been concluded, while the dealer was busy sorting out the main pot and side pot. What happened? A short stack was all in with the {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and hit the nut low and straight on a board of {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades}.

However, Kate Hoang and Randy Ohel were still involved and played for the much bigger pot. Ohel also had the nut low with {K-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and a king-high flush.

However, Hoang had {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for the nut flush and scooped the high pot to chip up.

Another One for Muir

Frank Muir
Frank Muir

It's been a good day for Frank Muir as he scooped up another pot to move to 55,000 and firmly entrench himself in the top of the standings. It was Muir who opened the action from under the gun and the player in the small blind defended.

On a board that ran out {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, Muir bet every street and received swift calls along the way. Muir had flopped the joint with {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and claimed another pot.

Nally Busts Two; Muir Thriving

Level 9 : 300/600, 0 ante

Preflop a short stack was all in for a mere 1,700 out of the big blind and he was called by an opponent in late position and Ronan Nally in the small blind. On the {J-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop, Nally check-called a bet before check-raising the {9-Spades} turn to pick up a call. Nally bet the {Q-Clubs} river and the sole remaining active player called all in.

Nally turned over {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for the nut straight and neither opponent could beat that. Nally earned a few chips more after a low earned him half the pot against a flush and a straight, but he is not the biggest stack at the table just yet. That honor currently belongs to Frank Muir.

Leah Can't Shake 'Em

Level 9 : 300/600, 0 ante

Mike Leah has been nurturing a short stack for a while now and defended his big blind against a raise from the button. The flop was {7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Leah check-raised a bet from the button, which got called.

The Canadian bet the {3-Diamonds} turn and {6-Clubs} river, which left him nearly all in. His opponent took around a minute before calling off the river bet.

Leah revealed {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{4-Spades} for ace-king and a seven-six low, the button opened up the remaining kings with {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and claimed the high portion.
