Jamison Doubles to Send Negreanu to a Short Stack

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Gregory Jamison
Gregory Jamison

Daniel Negreanu raised the cutoff to 55,000 and Gregory Jamison three-bet to 171,000 in position. Negreanu called and the flop came {Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.

Negreanu checked and Jamison moved all in. Negreanu asked for a count and when he learned that it was 85,000, he made the call, even though his hand didn't connect to the flop.

Jamison turned up {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Negreanu said, "I need hearts," before he showed {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}.

The {10-Spades} turn was good for Jamison who locked the double and a meaningless {8-Spades} completed the board.

Couden Rivers Broadway

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Joey Couden
Joey Couden

Eli Elezra limped in from middle position and Joey Couden called in the hijack. Gregory Jamison and Mike Matusow joined the action from the blinds and they went four-way to the {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop.

Elezra fired 80,000, getting a call from Couden and folds from Jamison and Matusow.

The {8-Clubs} turn was checked by Elezra and Couden bet 200,000. Elezra didn't hesitate and quickly matched the price.

They made it to the {A-Clubs} river where both players tapped and Elezra showed {A-}{J-}{J-}{2-} for a set of jacks. Couden, however, rolled over {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for a rivered Broadway. Elezra slammed the felt in disappointment.

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu moved all in for 19,000 under the gun and got called by Bruno Fitoussi, Chris Conrad, and Kim Kallman. The three players checked down a {2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{j-Clubs} side pot and Negreanu tabled the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} to take the low pot while Conrad captured the high pot with the {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Fitoussi made the low for the side pot.

Negreanu Survives for Another Orbit

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Mike Matusow raised to 50,000 in the hijack and the action folded to big blind Daniel Negreanu who called for all his chips.

Matusow: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Negreanu: {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Negreanu finished with a low to chop the pot with Matusow.

Negreanu Keeps Doubling

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Down to 19,000 when the 10-handed final table started, Daniel Negreanu was one foot out of the door but a streak of doubles saw him catapult his stack to 236,000.

The latest came when Mike Matusow raised to 60,000 in the first position. Negreanu was in the middle and said: "Mike Matusow raises under the gun? Then I'm all in."

Matusow called off with {A-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Negreanu was ahead with {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{7-Clubs}.

The flop, however, pushed the odds in Matusow's favor as the {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Clubs} hit the felt. But the {9-Clubs} turn gave Negreanu a flush and Matusow couldn't finish with a boat to eliminate Negreanu. The {J-Hearts} river bricked his low draw as well and Negreanu scooped the whole pot.

Nathan Gamble Eliminated in 10th Place ($13,429)

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Nathan Gamble
Nathan Gamble

The action went five-ways to a {2-Spades}{6-Spades}{q-Diamonds} flop. Nathan Gamble moved all in for 45,000 and got looked up by Eli Elezra and Dustin Pattinson.

Both players checked the {5-Spades} on the turn and Pattinson folded to the {j-Diamonds} when Elezra bet 75,000 on the river.

Elezra tabled the {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for a straight and six-low while Gamble's {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Hearts} was nowhere near strong enough for either pot.

Gamble's impressive run for back-to-back titles ended in 10th place.

Elezra and Matusow Chop

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

Mike Matusow raised to 70,000 in a middle position, earning calls from button Eli Elezra and small blind Dustin Pattinson.

The {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop was checked and Matusow potted the {10-Diamonds} turn, making it 234,000. Elezra asked how much did Matusow have left and it was 65,000. Then he raised, getting rid of Pattinson. Matusow called off and both players knew they were chopping as Matusow had the {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} while Elezra turned up {A-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}.

The river was the {5-Hearts} and Matusow and Elezra pulled their bets back.
