Natural8 2020 WSOP Online Performances of the Week: Ryan "Im.Sorry" Runner-Up & Champ in Back-to-Back Days

Ryan Torgersen
Ryan Torgersen

The 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) online bracelet events will run from July 1st to September 6th and is comprised of 85 WSOP gold bracelets on the digital felt across two different clients: WSOP.com and GG Poker.

Each week, we’ll highlight those players who rise to the top through their performance, be it a dominating one in a single event, or an exhibition of consistency over several tournaments. In the first week, honors went to Shawn “SayGoodnight” Daniels after he made two final tables. This week, several players put in noteworthy performances, though one stood above all the rest.

Over the course of two days, New Jersey’s Ryan “im.sorry” Torgersen did something truly incredible. First, he navigated his way through a 1,026-entry field in Event #9: $1,000 NLH 6-Max only to fall one spot shy of winning a bracelet. The following day, he found redemption by capturing a bracelet in Event #10: $600 Monster Stack.

WSOP Legend: Doyle Brunson's Final Bracelet, 15 Years Later

Doyle Brunson
Doyle Brunson

At the beginning of the 2005 WSOP, Doyle Brunson remained the co-king of the all-time bracelet count, tied along with Johnny Chan at nine. However, as the series drew toward its close in late June, that was no longer the case — Chan had overtaken him by winning No. 10 to stand atop the mountain alone.

Brunson was already phasing out his tournament play, having cashed precisely zero times that summer and just three times in the previous two combined, although one had resulted in a bracelet victory.

When it came time for Event #31: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed, Brunson dusted off his tournament chops and made a run.

For the a more thorough look on Brunson's historic 10th bracelet win, click the link below.

Parry Cracks Aces for Double

Matthew Parry
Matthew Parry

With blinds at 16,000/32,000/4,000, Matthew "EarvinMagic" Parry open-jammed for 293,472 from early position and he received isolation from "Dragonious" who came over the top for 793,680 from the button.

"Dragonious": {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Matthew "EarvinMagic" Parry: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Parry was in rough shape but he connected with the {7-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop giving him a set of jacks.

The {10-Hearts} turn didn't change a thing nor did the {4-Spades} river as it secured Parry's double-up.
