Top Pair Good for "Diaper_money"

Level 6 : 80/160, 0 ante

"FlamingToshi" raised to 1,200 from under the gun, "Diaper_money" called from the cutoff.

The flop came the {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, Diaper_money bet 800 after a check and was called. The turn was the {2-Clubs}, Diaper_money bet 1,350 and was called again.

The river was the {q-Hearts}. It went check-check. FlamingToshi showed the {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} which was no good to the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} of Diaper_money.

Donnell "Spreezy52" Dais Gets His WSOP Bracelet

Level 5 : 60/120, 0 ante
Donnell Dais
Donnell Dais

One week ago, Donnell "Spreezy52" Dais topped a 950-entry field to win Event #3: $500 NLH Turbo Deepstack for $90,801 and his first gold bracelet.

Originally from Atlanta, Dais has been grinding in Las Vegas, so when WSOP officials reached out about getting him his bracelet, he told them he was actually staying at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. As such, they met him at the sportsbook where they presented him with the actual bracelet, making him the first to actually receive his hardware.

According to The Hendon Mob, Dais has $58,230 in documented live tournament earnings including a career-best $19,477 for finishing ninth in the 2019 WSOP Circuit Harrah's New Orleans. However, Dais grinded a lot of the local Atlanta games where he established himself as one of the best, meaning he has lots of other undocumented tournament winnings to his credit.

Dais first learned to play poker during his two tours in Iraq back in the mid-to-late 2000s. He took a break from the online grind over the past week but plans to get back on the virtual grind soon in pursuit of a second WSOP gold bracelet.

Boxcars Treat "jake.nothing" Right

Level 5 : 60/120, 0 ante

Action folded to "dingles" on the button and they raised to 240. The small blind folded and then "jake.nothing" three-bet all in for 941. "dingles" called and the hands were turned up.

"dingles": {5-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
"jake.nothing": {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

The {6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop gave "jake.nothing" a set of sixes but they weren't out of the woods as "dingles" had a gutshot straight draw. Neither the {k-Diamonds} turn nor {j-Spades} river changed a thing and "jake.nothing" shipped the small double.

WSOP History: Looking Back at the November (and October) Nines

Level 5 : 60/120, 0 ante
2013 WSOP November Nine
2013 WSOP November Nine

No stage in poker stood as a bigger goal for a tournament player than the final table of the WSOP Main Event. For years, that meant going to sleep knowing you had the chance of a lifetime, to go down in poker history in the next few days as the cameras captured your every bet, raise and fold.

All of that changed in 2008.

The year after Jerry Yang's Main Event victory was broadcast to all on ESPN's standard tape delay, organizers made a decision to try to increase the excitement and anticipation around the final table: after the final nine was reached, play would be paused. At that point, everyone left would go home with 9th-place money and the players would reconvene a few months later to play out the final table on a short tape delay.

That lasted until 2016, and this is the history of the November (and October) Nines.
