Yuan Bubbles Event #18 After Getting It in Good

Level 23 : 4,000/8,000, 800 ante
Ye Yuan
Ye Yuan

On the money bubble, action folded to Felix "madenspauwke" Vandeput on the button and he simply moved all in to put the pressure on the blinds. Ye "yuan365" Yuan was in the big blind and opted to call off for 171,562.

Felix "madenspauwke" Vandeput: {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Ye "yuan365" Yuan: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Yuan got it in good but fell behind on the {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop. The {2-Hearts} turn left Yuan looking for a jack on the river to survive, but it wasn't in the cards as the {3-Hearts} bricked.

Yuan left empty-handed in 127th place while the remaining 126 are guaranteed $1,384 in prize money.

Chris "Robotbob47" Moorman: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Paul "yogaprince62" Tong: {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Moorman got it in good but was left drawing dead on the turn after the board ran out {5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{k-Diamonds} to give Tong quads. Moorman fell in 128th place just two spots short of the money.

Negreanu's Day is Done Early

Level 8 : 175/350, 35 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

In the last hand of Level 8, Terry "twheeler68" Wheeler raised to 945 from the cutoff only to have Daniel "DNegs" Negreanu three-bet to 2,590 from the small blind. Wheeler responded with a four-bet to 6,562 and then called when Negreanu five-bet jammed for 23,528.

Daniel "DNegs" Negreanu: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Terry "twheeler68" Wheeler: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop gave Negreanu a gutshot straight draw and backdoor heart options, but the {6-Clubs} turn took away the latter possibility while putting out some chop options.

Unfortunately for "Kid Poker," the {j-Clubs} river was a brick and he was eliminated from the tournament for the last time as he'd exhausted the maximum two re-entries.

Black Continues to Roll with Double Elimination of Negreanu & Lapka

Level 7 : 150/300, 30 ante

Daniel "DNegs" Negreanu raised to 750 under the gun and Taylor "ReadyGambo" Black called next to act. Two other players limped before Justin "LappyPoker" Lapka, who just last night captured his first WSOP gold bracelet, three-bet jammed for 8,972 from the button.

Both blinds folded, Negreanu moved all in over the top for 16,790, and Black called to put both players at risk. The other two limpers folded and all three hands were turned up.

Taylor "ReadyGambo" Black: {k-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Daniel "DNegs" Negreanu: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Justin "LappyPoker" Lapka: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Lapka was ahead with pocket queens but the {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop vaulted Black into the lead thanks to his kicker. Neither the {9-Clubs} turn nor {8-Hearts} river changed a thing Black scored the double knockout and became the first player to hit a six-figure chip stack.

Meanwhile, both Lapka and Negreanu opted to re-enter the tournament.

"Beastro" Looking to Beast Mode the WSOP Online

Level 2 : 30/60, 0 ante
John Allan Hinds playing WSOP.com
John Allan Hinds playing WSOP.com

While the summer is usually reserved for players coming into Vegas for the World Series of Poker, one of the benefits of the online events is that players from New Jersey can participate without having to travel across the country.

One such player is John Allan Hinds, who is playing from the Garden State under the screenname “Beastro.”

Hinds, who last year sent us this photo of his grind station, is a poker pro with $691,665 in live tournament earnings, including a career-best $262,574 for finishing 20th in the 2015 WSOP Main Event. In 2012, he won a WPT Borgata Poker Open $400 side event for $68,871, and in 2017 also cashed the WSOP Main Event finishing in 255th place for $40,181.

All told, Hinds has 44 WSOP-related cashes totaling $454,363, though he’s still in search of his first victory. He came close last year with five WSOP.com Season Finale Online Circuit cashes – including a sixth-place finish in the $320 Double Stack for $9,174 – but only time will tell if he can get it done here in the July bracelet events.
