Wheeler Sizes Down

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Jason Wheeler
Jason Wheeler

Jason Wheeler raised from middle position to 1,600 which prompted a call from the cut off and the small blind.

The flop came down {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and the small blind checked to Wheeler who made a continuation bet of 2,600. The cutoff called and the big blind folded.

The {3-Spades} turn was checked through, but the river of {7-Spades} saw a small bet of 1,100 from Wheeler. The cutoff player shook his head a few times before tossing in a reluctant call. Wheeler turned over {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a pair of eights, but was trumped by the cutoff's {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} for a pair of aces with a jack kicker.

Faria Busts One Right After Break

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

On the first hand following the break, the player under-the-gun raised to 2,000 and two players called before the button moved all of his chips in the middle for 23,200.

The original raiser folded and action was on Luis Faria, who made the call with {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and had the all-in player covered. Everyone else folded and the player at risk turned over {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. The board ran out {2-}{4-}{k-}{j-}{8-} and the best hand held up.

Faraj Gets Double Knockout With Tens

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Barak Faraj was down to 14,000 just a few hands earlier but is now sitting on a stack of 70,000 thanks to a double elimination.

Faraj, holding {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, had two players all in with {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} and {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

The {4-Clubs} popped up in the window to give one of Faraj's opponents a set, but it was followed by the {10-Spades} and the {6-Clubs}. Now Faraj was the player well ahead with a set.

The {a-Clubs} came on the turn to give the player with A-K a flush draw, but the river bricked out with the {8-Hearts} to send the massive pot to Faraj and both of his opponents to the rail.
