Rones Making the Most of First Tournament

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Todd Rones is currently sitting on a stack of around 80,000. The fact he's above average is impressive enough. What makes it even more impressive is that this is his first poker tournament ever.

"I have friends back home telling me, 'You don't have any chips.' I've got lots of chips," Rones said.

"I probably won't make any money but I'm having a lot of fun."

Ramos had two live cards but the {j-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs} run out was no help as he grabbed his dogs and left the table.

Tayi Playing the Bully

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Venkata Tayi is wielding a massive stack and has shown he's not afraid to put it to good use.

In his last hand, Tayi was in the big blind and called a pre-flop raise from a player in middle position, as did the small blind. The flop came {6-Spades}{a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and action checked to the original raiser.

He put out a bet and the small blind folded. Tayi, thought, came back with a raise and his opponent quickly slid his cards back to the dealer as Tayi extended his tournament chip lead.

Rudisill Eliminates Katz

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Jake Rudisill raised under the gun and Aaron Katz three-bet next to act. The action folded back around to Rudisill and he put in another raise. Katz called.

The dealer fanned a flop of {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Rudisill continued with a bet before Katz raised. Rudisill called.

The {8-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Rudisill checked to Katz as he his last 4,000 all-in and Rudisill instantly called.

Aaron Katz: {9-Spades}{7-Spades}
Jake Rudisill: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Katz was looking for a spade to make a flush but the {5-Clubs} on the river was no help as he stood up from the table.

Bardah Hits a Fortunate River

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Ronnie Bardah and an opponent went heads-up to a flop of {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Bardah checked to his opponent, then called a bet.

Bardah also called a bet on the {q-Spades} turn before leading out when the river brought the {j-Clubs}. His opponent called.

Bardah showed {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a rivered straight as his opponent let out an exasperated sigh.

"I can't beat that. I can't beat a straight. I had an ace," his opponent said.

"You win some, you lose some," Bardah replied as he raked in the pot.
