Kabbaj Sends Opponent Home

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The hijack and John Kabbaj on the button moved their chips into the middle preflop.

Hijack: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
John Kabbaj: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds} which gave the hijack the lead with top set, however, it gave Kabbaj an open-ended straight draw. The {6-Spades} on the turn helped no one, but the {q-Hearts} on the river gave Kabbaj the nuts. The two-time WSOP bracelet winner took a nice pot and eliminated his opponent.

Hawkins On The Rise

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

On a flop of {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, Maurice Hawkins in the big blind called the all-in from the middle position player.

Maurice Hawkins: {j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Middle Position: {k-}{k-}{8-}{8-}

The middle position player stood up and said "I guess it is rebuy time!" when Hawkins revealed he hit a set. The{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} runout was no help for the middle position player and Hawkins stack smashes through the six-figure mark.

Kings in the Hull

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

On a heads- up board of {k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} Henry Hull and his opponent got it all in, with Hull at risk.

Hull tabled {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Spades} for top set of kings and a gutshot straight draw while his opponent showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for the nut flush draw and the same straight draw.

The river {4-Hearts} did not improve either player and Hull and his kings held to win the substantial pot.
