McSwiney Applies Pressure to Gierse

Level 30 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Joshua McSwiney raised under the gun to 400,000 and got a call from Marius Gierse in the big blind.

The board came {4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Gierse checked. McSwiney shoved for 3,800,000 and Gierse didn't take long to fold, showing {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for top pair top kicker. McSwiney flipped over {k-Spades}{8-Spades} with a smile.

"I never expected that! Well done" said Gierse jokingly while McSwiney added the chips to his stack.

Fred Goldberg
Fred Goldberg

Pot-Limit Omaha

Marius Gierse raised to 500,000 in the hijack and from the button, Fred Goldberg moved all in for 1,900,000 which folded out all other players and Gierse called.

Fred Goldberg: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Marius Gierse: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

The board ran out {q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Goldberg's kings could not best Gierse's aces and Goldberg exited the tournament in 7th place.

Level 30 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Joao Simao opened to 450,000 in the hijack and picked up calls from Fred Goldberg and Ryan Riess in the blinds.

Cody Rich Eliminated In 8th Place ($69,727)

Level 29 : 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Cody Rich
Cody Rich

Pot-Limit Omaha

Cody Rich raised to 400,000 preflop from the cutoff and Joao Simao defended in the big blind.

The flop came out {3-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades} and Rich bet pot to 900,000 but did not realize that the action was on Simao. The floor confirmed that it was Joao's action and the bet had to stand unless action changed. Simao checked and the pot-sized bet had to stand and Simao moved all in and Rich called.

Cody Rich: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Joao Simao: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

The turn and river came out {2-Clubs}{6-Spades} which saw the pocket kings hold for Simao and Rich left the tournament in 8th place.

Goldberg Keeps Multiplying his Stack

Level 29 : 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Fred Goldberg
Fred Goldberg

Pot-Limit Omaha

Fred Goldberg limped again and got called by Dante Goya on the button and Aden Salazar in the small blind. Joao Simao, in the big blind, raised it to 400,000 and Goldberg called. So did Goya and Salazar.

The flop came {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and it checked to Goldberg who shoved for his last 200,000. Goya snap-folded and Salazar quickly called. Simao raised it to 1,400,000, which made Salazar fold.

Fred Goldberg: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Joao Simao: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Spades}

Goldberg had hit a set of sevens and the rest of the board fell the {a-Diamonds} and the {10-Clubs} to secure the pot to Golberg who has now a stack worth 2,600,000.

Pot-Limit Omaha

Fred Goldberg limped for 150,000, with 40,000 left behind, and Dante Goya called in the small blind. Aden Salazar raised it to 300,000 and Goya let it go:

Fred Goldberg: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Aden Salazar: {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Goldberg took down the pot with two pair to more than triple up his stack.

Salazar Wins A Weird One

Level 29 : 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Aden Salazar
Aden Salazar

Pot-Limit Omaha

Action was picked up on the flop four ways with Cody Rich in the small blind, Dante Goya in the big blind, Aden Salazar in first position and Fred Goldberg in the cutoff.

The board read {3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Rich led out for 500,000 which only Salazar and Goldberg called.

The turn {4-Diamonds} saw Rich check to Salazar who bet 1,150,000 and Fred Goldberg after some time said "alrighty let's go!" and put in one stack of 5,000 chips. The floor was called over after debate whether it should be ruled as a call or not, given that the bet did not put Goldberg all in, and many players voiced their opinions.

After the floor confirmed it was just a call, Rich folded his hand and the river {j-Spades} saw both players check. Salazar turned over {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for three fours which was good enough to beat Goldberg as he tossed his hand into the muck after flashing {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Rich slammed the table after saying he folded a straight while Salazar took down the pot.
