McCullagh Gets A Double Up Close To The Bubble

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Jonathan McCullagh, in middle position, moved all in for 53,000 and was called by the small blind.

Jonathan McCullagh: {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Small Blind: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The flop of {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} gave additional straight outs for McCullagh. The {a-Hearts} was no help for the Irishman, but the {j-Hearts} gave McCullagh a pair on the river.

McCullagh secured the biggest recorded cash recently winning the Mystery Bounty event at the Irish Poker Open for €23,590. A final table in this tournament will better it.

Ouimette Busts Aces for Knockout

Level 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

After a limp from under the gun, there was a raise to 14,000 from early position. Justin Ouimette made the call on the button. The big blind and under-the-gun player called as well.

With four players still in the hand, the flop came {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. The early position player moved all in for around 50,000. Ouimette moved all in as well, with 135,000 behind. The big blind and under-the-gun players got out of the way, and it was showdown time.

Opponent: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Ouimette: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Ouimette had flopped a set and was now in great position to capture the pot and send his opponent to the rail. The {4-Spades} turn and {4-Hearts} river improved Ouimette to a full house, but ultimately didn't change much. Ouimette scooped the pot and knocked his opponent out of the tournament.

Winn's Top Pair Good for Double Up

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Action was picked up after Jordan Winn had moved all in on the turn. There was about 40,000 in the pot and the board read {7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{j-Spades}{4-Diamonds} when Winn pushed his last 97,000 into the middle. The clock had been called, and the table had been waiting long enough for the floor that they began joking that they needed to call a clock on the floor.

Eventually, the floor showed up and began the countdown for Winn's opponent to act. Just before time expired, he put in the call, and the players tabled their hands.

Jordan Winn: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Opponent: {10-Spades}{4-Spades}

Winn was ahead, but any four, ten, or spade on the river would eliminate him from the tournament. Luckily for him, the {3-Hearts} arrive on the river, securing him the double up.
