Ramos Out; Hughes Follows Suit

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

The last few chips of Felipe Ramos vanished to send the Brazilian to the rail in 36th place and there was an all-in showdown shortly after.

Ryan Hughes then raised in the hijack and chip leader Amnon Filippi called on the button, as did Ronan Nally in the small blind. The {8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop got the last chips of Hughes in and Filippi looked him up.

Ryan Hughes: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Amnon Filippi: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

The {7-Spades} turn and {2-Spades} river runout ensured the split pot. Hughes was down to just 180,000 in chips thereafter, which he then lost to Matt Glantz in the following hand.

Down to 36 Players

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Another three players succumbed to their severe short stacks in a matter of two minutes and that included Andrew Yeh, Jonathan Lynn, and Brian Lives. The latter got it in with the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and faced Murilo Figueredo with the {j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

On a board of {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, Lives had no low and just one pair while Figueredo made two pair.

Moments later, Logan Hatch was eliminated on a nearby table and that reduced the field to the final 36 contenders.

Robert Mizrachi
Robert Mizrachi

With a flop of {q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, Robert Mizrachi and Terry Mackie were heads up. Mizrachi bet the flop, Mackie raised and Mizrachi then went all in. They then flipped their cards:

Robert Mizrachi: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{x-}
Terry Mackie: {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}

The turn brought an {8-Hearts} and the river was a {6-Hearts} to improve Mackie to the nut flush and had Mizrachi exiting the tournament in Level 25.

Randolph Gets Quartered Again

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

"I am not going away from that flop," a disappointed Bartholomew Randolph said as he lost three quarters of a pot against Vitaliy Mikhov. They had gotten it in after the {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop for the following showdown to emerge.

Bartholomew Randolph: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Vitaliy Mikhov: {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}

The flopped straight was not a lock yet as Randolph had the flush draw, which missed on the {9-Clubs} turn and {6-Clubs} river.

A Few Chips and a Chair for Ramos

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Throughout a board of {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, Felipe Ramos invested a total of 240,000 chips or four full bets which represented the vast majority of his short stack. His cards were already in the muck while the total amount he had to pay to Amnon Filippi, as the latter had the {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for a jack-high straight exposed.

Once all was done and dusted, Ramos was reduced to two thirds of a big bet.

Deeb Back in the Mix After Quartering Judah

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Shaun Deeb check-called a bet by Mel Judah on the {8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{a-Clubs} river and Judah announced aces up. "Which aces up?" Deeb inquired as Judah rolled over the {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} for aces and deuces with a low. Deeb had the same low and superior two pair with the {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts} to earn three quarters.

Ramos Gets Three Quarters From Glantz

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

On a board of {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Spades}, the {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} of Felipe Ramos were good enough for the second nut low and trips eights. Matt Glantz only earned one quarter of the pot with {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} to put a dent into his stack and slow down the recent rise on the leaderboard.
