There was a middle position open to 16,000 from legend of the game, Freddy Deeb. It folded all the way to James Obst in the big blind who defended off a stack that was top three in the field.
The K♥J♣10♦ flop hit the felt and Obst checked it over to Deeb who threw out a bet of 24,000. Obst only thought for a moment before putting in the check-raise to 55,000. Deeb made the call and the players saw a 6♥ on the turn. Obst then slowed down and checked it over to Deeb. He took his time but eventually landed on a bet of 63,000.
No double check-raise from Obst this time as he mucked his hand and Deeb scooped a healthy pot in the first level after the close of registration.
