We've reached the final level of the evening (or so we think). The tentative plan is to finish level 18 and finish up tomorrow afternoon starting at two.
That said, there's been some chatter about certain players wanting to finish up tonight. We'll keep you posted, but at the moment, it's looking like one and we're done.
Men Nguyen raised under the gun and Richard Gryko silently called in the small blind to see a flop. Gryko checked it, and then called 20,000 form Nguyen.
Gryko checked the turn as well and Nguyen asked him, "How much you got there?" 120,000 was the answer. Nguyen took a swig of his Corona and dwelled for a while. Eventually he checked.
Both players checked the river and Gryko turned over for two pair; whatever Nguyen had, he couldn't beat that, and Gryko picked up the pot.
Men 'The Master' Nguyen limped into the pot from early position and action folded around the table to Hoyt Corkins who kicked it up to 18,000. Action then folded back around to Nguyen who made the call and saw the flop come .
"How much is in there (the pot)?" Nguyen asked the dealer.
42,000 was the answer and 42,000 was Nguyen's bet.
Corkins tanked, but eventually folded (X?) face up on the table.
"How you lay that down?!" fired Nguyen, with a smile on his face.
Nguyen showed two of his hole cards -- a and a -- good for a nine-high straight.
Three-way to a flop, there must have been some good action preflop as the pot-sized bet that Men Nguyen put in after it had checked around to him on the button comprised 41,000 in chips. Both Mats Gavatin and Erik Cajelais folded, and the pot was his.
Erik Cajelais moved all in on a flop and Mats Gavatin called him. On their backs.
Cajelais: for a pair
Gavatin: for a straight draw
Turn:
River:
Gavatin made his straight, but Cajelais had runner-runnered himself a flush for a double up to over 100,000. Gavatin meanwhile is not in any immediate danger -- he's still chip leader on just a shade under 400,000.
Men Nguyen raised pot from the cutoff and Mats Gavatin called in the small blind.
They checked down the board until the river, when Gavatin check-called a 35,000 bet. Nguyen turned over for runner-runner trips, though, and Gavatin mucked his hand.
Ian Frazer has just been eliminated from the event by Richard Gryko.
(Hold'em)
Gryko opened the pot with a raise to 17,500 from the button. Erik Cajelais passed from the small blind and when the action reached Frazer, he raised the pot.
"Let's just get it all in," said Gryko, reraising and putting Frazer all in. A call was made and the following showdown ensued:
Gryko:
Frazer:
The flop came an intriguing , giving Frazer an open-ended straight draw. His overcards were live as well against Gryko's pair of sixes.
The turn and river finished out , and Gryko's sixes would hold to win the pot, eliminating Frazer from the tournament in 8th place.
After the hand, Gryko stacked up just over 165,000 in chips.
