Re-Munn-Eration

After a brief period of relinquishing the chip lead to Praz Bansi, Ian Munns is back at the top after knocking out Viktor Blom. We don't know the hand, but we do know that Blom was in possession of 170,000 in chips at the start of the hand and none at the end.

Mr. Munns is our big ol' chip daddy once again, on a whopping more-than-five-times-the-average 465,000.

Minor Hit for Negreanu

On a table that was once bubbling with chitter-chatter and benign banter, but is now suddenly subdued, Yevgeniy Timoshenko raised it up to circa 2,500 preflop under the gun only for Daniel Negreanu to bump it up to 6,500 two seats along. A brief pause, and Timoshenko made the call.

On the {J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop, Timoshenko check-called a continuation bet of 8,200, before checking down the {9-Clubs} turn and {3-Diamonds} river with {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, which happened to be good.

Minor hit for Negreanu who now has 110,000, whilst Timoshenko looks to have around the 150,000 mark.

Brown Down

Chad Brown was last spotted conducted an interview mid-level, which either means he has so many chips he can afford to casually walk around the cardroom chatting to people or, and this is what I'd put my wages on, he's out.

Hendon Mobbed

One half of the Hendon Mob has now been brought together here at the Empire Casino, 'Crazy Horse' Ram Vaswani and 'The Ellegance' Joe Beevers just one seat apart. Whilst Beevers is well above average with 110,000, Vaswani forms part of the chasing pack (everyone is chasing Praz Bansi at the moment) with 180,000. Also on this table is online degenerate Ashton Griffin. He has 45,000.

Demjan Looks Like Cash to Timoshenko

Late-period Johnny Cash-alike Sandor Demjan and young WPT Championship winner Yevgeniy Timoshenko saw a {K-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {9-Hearts} flop, which they both apparently fell in love with. Demjan bet 20,000, Timoshenko raised all in and Demjan called.

Demjan: {K-Hearts} {J-Clubs}
Timoshenko: {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}

Turn: a scary flush draw-tastic {7-Hearts}

River: a harmless {2-Clubs}

Demjan drops to 104,800, while Timoshenko doubles to almost 130,000.

"From zero to hero," commented tablemate Peter Gould, "What did you have, like 20k?" Timoshenko was never that low, exactly, but not far off. Either way it's a fine recovery for the young Russian.

Brunson Still Going Strong

Doyle Brunson
Doyle Brunson
Doyle Brunson is proving there's fight in the ol' dog yet. I just caught him winning a sizable pot with a bet of 6,000 into a {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} board. Both Sami Kelopuro and Christian Harder folded. The latter of those has excelled of late and now has a stack of 150,000, which is around the same figure that Texas Dolly is currently on.

Akkari Vs. Esfandiari

A curious hand took place on the table buried in the corner upstairs.

Antonio Esfandiari raised to 3,300 from the cutoff and Andre Akkari called from the button to see a {9-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} flop, which they both checked.

They saw a {5-Spades} turn which Esfandiari liked enough to bet out 6,500; Akkari called and they saw a river.

The river was the {4-Spades} and now Esfandiari bet out an indeterminate sum in the region of 15-25,000; however much it was, though, it was too much for Akkari. He folded, and the pot headed to Esfandiari.

Caught in Anette

On a {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{J-Hearts} board, Annette Obrestad check-called a bet of 5,000 before checking down the {3-Diamonds} and winning with {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. Her opponent mucked, meaning Obrestad now has close to the 100,000 mark.

Knaves for Liu

Eric Liu raised it up to 2,400 in middle position only for James Keys to reraise to 8,500 from the small blind. Liu called, before both players checked down a {7-Spades}{K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, Liu taking it down with {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades} versus what appeared to be {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.
