Day 1 is Over

The tournament staff has just halted play with 12 minutes left in the current blind level. We have confirmed that Day 2 action will begin at 4:00 p.m. PST. Additionally, players will receive new seat assignments for tomorrow.

With names like Ivey, Greenstein, Judah, Arieh, Forrest, Raymer, Enright and Tony G still in the field, tomorrow should offer a bunch of exciting matchups and some very solid poker.

See you tomorrow!

Papa Levy is Piling them High

With just under 30,000 in chips, Papa Levy is the tournament's new leader. Scooping up pot after pot, he utters "come to Papa."

Kings Up has John Juanda Shaking His Head

John Juanda called bets on every street against an opponent showing {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. At the showdown, his opponent flipped over {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{7-Spades} for two pair, and Juanda mucked his hand, shaking his head. John is now down to 1,050 chips.

Another Broken Table

The tournament staff just broke another table, sending Paul Darden to Josh Arieh's table. The two of them have a combined 30,000 chips.

Long Day in the Making

Today's event is scheduled to be completed in two days, but with a relatively large field returning for day 2, the players are in for a long day unless the tournament staff decides to make an extension.

We were last told that play will recommence tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. local time, and considering the pace of most limit 7 Card Stud tournaments, you can count on a late night.

Roger Barlow Moves into the Chip Lead

Amateur player Roger Barlow has amassed a field-leading chip stack of just over 26,000. He'll likely be a force to be reckoned with on Day 2.

21 Tables Remain

The field has narrowed to approximately 168 players and we've got about half an hour left to play.

Recent Eliminations

Gone from the field are Robert Turner, "Miami" John Cernuto, and Robert "The Thorn" Rosengarten.

World Champion Huck Seed Eliminated

Short-stacked, Huck got all of his chips into the pot holding {J-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for two pair, but his opponent turned over three tens, putting an end to Huck's night.
