Leading the way from the night session is Gregory Fishberg with 11,750, followed by Tim Faro with 101,200, putting them fourth and seventh place overall entering tomorrow's Day 2. Unofficially, the total field stands at 601 players and 322 will be returning, with end-of-Day 1a leader T.J. Crews the overall leader with 141,900.

Day 2 will commence at noon local time tomorrow and will last until either a final table is reached or until 2:00am.

Until then, good night from Atlantic City!

"GET THAT IN THE BLOG"

Action folded to Will "The Thrill" Failla in the cutoff and he opened to 1,500. Chris Reslock popped it to 3,300 from the small blind, Failla called, and the flop came down {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

Reslock bet 4,000, only to be raised to 10,500 by Failla.

"Ace-king no good," said Failla.

Reslock responded, "It still can be," as he tossed in the chips to call.

"Three of clubs," requested Failla.

Turn: {3-Clubs}

"GET THAT IN THE BLOG," yelled an excited Failla. He was about to get more excited after Reslock check-called his all-in shove for 17,950. Failla tabled {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a flopped straight, having already clinched the hand against Reslock's {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}.

The river was a meaningless {2-Hearts}, locking up the big pot for Failla.

Considering the Casino Champion

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

This is the seventh stop (of 20) on the 2012-13 WSOP Circuit calendar, with the eighth at Harrah's Rincon already underway. At every WSOP-C stop comes a competition among players at that stop to accumulate the most points in an effort to become the "Casino Champion," by virtue of which a player gains entry into the National Championship in May 2013.

Here are the six Casino Champions thus far:

PlayerQualified
Daniel GilmerHarveys Lake Tahoe Casino Champion
Sandra WongRiver Rock (Vancouver) Casino Champion
Mike LeahHorseshoe Hammond Casino Champion
Jonathan TaylorHorseshoe Southern Indiana Casino Champion
Quan NguyenBossier City Casino Champion
Cory WoodIP Biloxi Casino Champion

Here at Harrah's Resort Atlantic City an interesting situation has developed thus far regarding the race for Casino Champion. The first nine events (of 12) have all seen different winners — not at all unusual. However, none of those nine champs have cashed in any other events thus far. That means a nine-way tie for first in the race for Casino Champion at the moment, with all nine winners currently sitting with 50 points for their wins. Here are those nine:

EventBuy-In & GameWinnerFirst Prize
#1$365 NLHEJacob Coker$35,033
#2$365 NLHEBrandon Fish$50,862
#3$580 NLHEDaniel Marcus$25,546
#4$365 NLHEMoshe Bernstein$28,223
#5$580 NLHEYury Parad$31,770
#6$365 NLHEAlan Cutler$23,504
#7$1,125 NLHEJames Gilbert$50,106
#8$365 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo“Miami” John Cernuto$13,461
#9$365 NLHEKunal Shah$23,289

If by chance the race ends in a tie, the total winnings a player has earned will determine the Casino Champion. However, there's never been a need to go to the tiebreaker to determine a Casino Champion, and it's expected someone will nudge in front by virtue of a cash or two in Events 10 (this event), 11, or 12.
