PokerNews Set to Live Report Five North American Events This Weekend

It’s shaping up to be a busy weekend on PokerNews.com as our live reporting team is slated to cover tournaments all across North America. That includes four events in three different states, as well as one north of the border in Canada.
TV Poker Returns to Pennsylvania with HPT Meadows
The Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) kicked off its 12-day poker series at The Meadows Racetrack and Casino last week, and this weekend players will flock to the Pittsburgh area for the $1,100 buy-in, $250K GTD Main Event. PokerNews will be on hand to capture all the action from that tournament.
Among those confirmed to attend are 2004 World Series of Poker champ Greg Raymer and Poker Hall of Famer Linda Johnson. The HPT last visited The Meadows back in April, which is when Dan Wagner topped a 345-entry field to win the title and $76,165 first-place prize.
"We are looking forward to hosting another great HPT event at the Meadows," said Ben Kowalski, Vice President of Casino Operations.
The Main Event, which will be filmed for television, will feature two starting flights, the first of which kicks off Friday. Here’s a look at the Main Event schedule:

RGPS “Game 7” Season Bossier City
The latest stop on the RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) “Game 7” season is already underway at the Horseshoe Bossier City in Louisiana. A series of side events are playing out that will culminate with this weekend’s $575 buy-in, $100K GTD Main Event, which PokerNews will cover in its entirety.
Parx Big Stax XXXI 500 Event
Coming on the heels of the successful Big Stax XXXI 300 tournament, Parx Casino will up the buy-in to $550 for this weekend’s next tournament of the series.
The Big Stax 500 features three starting flights. Each Day 1 will play through Level 15. The surviving players from each flight will combine for Day 2 action on October 6, with the final table set to play out on October 7.
The tournament will start players with 40,000 in chips and the Day 1 flights will feature 45-minute levels. Day 2 will see levels upped to 60 minutes, while the final day will see them increase to 90 minutes. It is an unlimited re-entry and best-stack-forward event. Late registration and re-entry will be available until Level 17 begins.
The tournament will be in Parx East (3rd floor) for each Day 1. Day 2 and the final day will take place in the poker room in the main casino.

Canada’s 2019 SIGA Championship
Once a year, the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) invites the best poker players in Canada to Dakota Dunes Casino for the SIGA Poker Championship. Located 20 minutes south of Saskatoon, this year Dakota Dunes will play host to the eighth annual running of the tournament.
First run in 2011 as a $550 buy-in, the tournament increased to $675 in 2017 as popularity increased. This year for 2019, the buy-in has gone up once again, to $800 with an $80 admin fee. That means the expected prize pool for this year will be around $240,000, with a first-place prize that includes a free ticket to the 2020 World Series of Poker Main Event added on top.
With the high turnout, SIGA decided to go to a double Day 1 format in 2017, allowing players to qualify for a final day on Sunday through either Day 1a on Friday or Day 1b on Saturday. Players start each Day 1 with 30,000 chips, and play 16 30-minute levels on the first day, with action playing down to a winner on Day 2. If action on either day 1 gets down to 15% of the starting field, play will be halted early.
This year, cards go in the air for Day 1a at noon CT on Friday, October 4th, with Day 1b running on Saturday, October 5th. As has been the tradition here, the Championship bracelet will be handed out in the evening on Canada's Thanksgiving.
WSOP Circuit Southern Indiana $1,700 Main Event
For the past week, the Horseshoe Southern Indiana has been playing host to the World Series of Poker Circuit. Several ring winners have already been crowned in side events including Aaron Gamino (Event #2: $400 NLH for $48,320), Matthew Dunn (Event #4: $400 NLH 6-Handed for $13,828), and Matt Sterling (Event #5: $600 PLO Freezeout for $10,578), just to name a few.
On Friday, the $1,700 Main Event will get underway and PokerNews will be on hand to provide live updates throughout.
