Leo Boxell has been eliminated from Day 2b of the Queenstown Snowfest Main Event. Boxell was kind enough to recall the bad beat to us, as he let us know he got his chips in good with two pair holding kings and eights on a king-high flop against an opponent’s ace-king.
The turn was a brick, but unfortunately for Boxell the river was the dreaded ace to give his opponent a better two pair and leave Boxell to head out into Queenstown for an early dinner.

A big hand has just played out over on Table 5 and we were there to catch all the action. It started when Billy Argyros opened to 2,500 from under the gun. Lunardi called on his direct left and Benton did the same a couple of spaces over.
When the dealer spread out a flop, Argyros checked and Lunardi led for 3,600. Benton then raised it up to 8,000 and Argyros quickly got out of the way. Lunardi called here and the dealer turned over a on the turn. Lunardi would check-call a bet of 10,500 here and the would complete the board on the river.
This time Lunardi took his time before leading for 13,500. Benton then went deep into the tank, mumbling to himself as he decided what to do. Eventually he gave a shrug, and a sigh, and made the call. When Lunardi tabled his , Benton's would fall to the might of Lunardi's larger full house.

Folded to James Honeybone in the cutoff, he raised it up to 2,300. Matt Wakeman called out of the small blind, along with Craig Blight in the big blind and the dealer readied three cards for the felt.
Flop:
Wakeman and Blight both checked here and Honeybone bet 3,000. At this point Wakeman announced raise, flicking out 7,200. Blight quickly got out of the way and Honeybone made the call.
Turn:
Wakeman bet 11,300 here, which was the majority of his stack. At this point, Honeybone immediately slid out his stack of 5,000-denomination chips, having Wakeman covered. Wakeman made a quick call and the two players flipped over their hands.
When Honeybone saw Wakeman's , for a turned straight and a big flopped flush draw, Honeybone let out a sigh of frustration as he tabled his .
The on the river gave Honeybone a set, but it changed nothing and Wakeman raked in the big pot, leaving Honeybone crippled.
