Putt Takes Some Off Fitzgerald

Catching the action on a flop reading {Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, Angie Fitzgerald made a bet of 11,800 from the small blind. Graeme Putt called from the hijack, and Charles Caris folded. The turn fell the {A-Spades} and Fitzgerald checked. Putt took a moment, before announcing all in for his last 25,100 in chips. Fitzgerald didn’t want any part of it, mucking {Q-Spades}{J-Spades} face-up.

Putt moves up to 80,000 as Fitzgerald takes a slight hit, dropping to 205,000 in chips.

Yates Eliminates the Smallest Stack

With action starting on Matty Yates, he committed his last 12,900 into the pot. The next player had grinded all the way down to 2,700 in chips, and got it in. The rest of the table folded and the cards were shown.

Yates: {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{k-Spades} to see Yates’ deuces hold, moving up to 21,000 in chips.

Lee Finds a Double Through Yates

We arrived at the table to see the board spread out {4-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}, and Jason Lee committing the rest of his short-stack into the middle. Matty Yates tanked for a few minutes before making the call.

Lee: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Yates: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Lee was in front, and when the {A-Spades} fropped on the river, it assured him a double up to 80,000. Matty Yates was crippled down to 20,000 in chips.

Hockin Takes on the Big Stacks

Action started with Paul Hockin opening to 4,500. Xiaodong Xia called from the hijack, as did Slav Sheynin, from the big blind. The flop came out {J-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{J-Spades}, and Sheynin checked. Hockin continued with a bet of 5,100, and both players called. The hand slowed down from there, as the three players checked down the {3-Hearts} and {8-Hearts}.

Sheynin showed the {A-Clubs}, before Hockin tabled {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, resulting in folds.

Gissaud Takes Out Two

Emile Gissaud is sitting behind a very sizable stack now, courtesy of recently knocking out a couple of opponents. We didn't catch the action, but apparently Gissaud held {q-}{10-} and hit two pair on the flop against two opponents. One player was all-in preflop with {j-}{10-} and his one pair wasn't good enough, while a player with {a-}{a-} would get all his chips in on the flop. No help came for the gentlemen with aces and with that, Gissaud has just under 200,000.

Warner Out

We just arrived at Ashley Warner's table to find the recent ANZPT Melbourne runner-up faced with an all-in decision on a {j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop. There was already around 20,000 in the pot at this point and Warner's opponent was Pravin Harji, who had shoved all-in for his large stack on the flop.

Warner had around 40,000 behind and thought for so long, that a player who wasn't even involved in the hand called time on him. Eventually Warner was told he had thirty seconds to call and decided to get his chips in.

"You have a draw?" asked Warner as he tabled his {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for two overs. Harji did have a draw, turning over his {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

Unfortunately a {4-Hearts} would hit the turn and a {k-Hearts} would complete the board on the river, sending the big pot to Harji and Warner out the door.
