Almost Costly for Honeybone

James Honeybone
James Honeybone
James Honeybone, Josh Egan, Carter Gill, and one other player took a flop of {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {8-Hearts}. The action checked around and Gill yelled "three!" in hopes the dealer would smack a three on the felt.

The {4-Clubs} on the turn was close, and Honeybone and Egan both checked to Gill. He fired out a bet of 300. The player in the cutoff folded and Honeybone tossed out a raise. He accidentally tossed out a 5,000 chip instead of 500, taking the raise to 5,350.

"Oops, that was supposed to be 850," claimed Honeybone. No worries though, as both Egan and Gill quickly folded behind him. "I'm on acid over here, raising to 5,000," commented Honeybone as he raked in the small pot.

Erickson Drops Some Chips

Mark Erickson
Mark Erickson
Mark Erickson took a flop with opponent Mat Cheer. The flop fell {A-Spades} {5-Spades} {2-Clubs} and Erickson checked over to Cheer, who bet 275, and Erickson called.

The turn was the {9-Spades}, and Erickson checked again. Cheer again bet, this time making it 500. Erickson called once more.

The river was the {9-Clubs} and both players checked. Erickson turned up pocket fours while Cheer tabled {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} for the winning hand. Erickson is down to 9,000 chips while Cheer moved up to just under 12,000.

Assadourian Eliminated

Raymond Walker
Raymond Walker
Eric Assadourian came into today's Main Event flight fresh off his win last night in the Omaha preliminary event, which was good for NZD $12,000. His tournament today though, came to an abrupt halt early on.

Assadourian and his opponent, Raymond Walker, got into some preflop raising action before both players saw the flop come {6-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {3-Spades}. Walker bet 1,300 and Assadourian shoved all in for about 8,000 total. Walker made the call.

Walker {J-?} {J-?}
Assadourian {K-?} {K-?}

The turn was the {8-Hearts} and the river hit the {J-Diamonds}, giving Walker his two outer and the win. Walker slapped his hands together, but then shook the hand of Assadourian, who, understandably, didn't seem pleased with the way things turned out.

Early Double for Levy

Grant Levy
Grant Levy
Grant Levy just doubled up in the first few hands of the tournament. He held pocket tens on a ten-high flop versus an opponent's pocket kings. All of the money went in on the flop and Levy's hand held strong. He is now up to 21,000.

Powerful Table

As various notable players are scattered around the room, there is one table that is stacked with pros. Mark Vos, George Dunst, and Eric Assadourian are all seated at the same table and within just a few seats of one another. The always aggressive Vos has position on both players.

Gill Scoops One Early

Carter Gill was involved in a hand where a few players limped in preflop. Gill was in the small blind. The flop came {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} and Gill led out for 175. The big blind called while the three remaining players each folded.

The turn was the {A-Hearts} and Gill quickly tapped the table. His opponent bet out 300 and Gill called.

The river was the {Q-Diamonds} and Gill bet out 600. His opponent announced "call" and was shown the {A-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} by Gill. The other player mucked his hand and Gill took down the pot.
