Matthew Wall - Eliminated
Matthew Wall - Eliminated
Moments after losing that last pot, Matthew Wall opened a new hand with a raise. His old sparring partner, Wai Yuen reraised, and Wall made the call all in. He turned over {9-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} and was racing for his tournament life against Yuen's {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds}.

Flop: {6-Spades} {2-Clubs} {2-Spades}

Turn: {J-Clubs}

River: {A-Clubs}

Once again Yuen finds her card on the last chance, catching an ace to eliminate Matthew Wall in 20th Place.

Get 'Em In There, Everyone

Samuel Cavanaugh
Samuel Cavanaugh
Wai Yuen moved all in before the flop for about 30,000 chips. Sam Cavanaugh did the same, moving all in with his short stack. Action passed to Matthew Wall, and he made the call, covering his opponents. With no further betting action, and two players at risk of elimination, the hands were shown down:

Yuen: {8-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}
Cavanaugh: {K-Spades} {Q-Hearts}
Wall {A-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}

Cavanaugh caught up on the flop, as it showed up {Q-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}. The turn was the {J-Spades}, and Yuen had one foot out the door. Salvation came for her though; fifth street brought a helpful {8-Spades}, giving her the winning triple eights. She has vaulted up the leader board, sitting with a healthy 90,000.

Cavanaugh, on the other hand, has no chips left, and he heads for the rail. He'll take home almost NZD $6,000 as a consolation prize.

Paul Hockin - Eliminated
Paul Hockin - Eliminated
Luke Stanford moved all in before the flop with {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}. Paul Hockin made the call, moving all in himself for his last 46,000. He held {K-Spades} {J-Diamonds} and was in trouble and at risk of elimination.

The board failed to improve either player, coming {8-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {5-Diamonds}. Hockin put on a good show, but the young gun is eliminated in 22nd place. He'll earn NZD $5,998.

Sing v. Cvetkovski

For the second hand in a row, Dan Sing moved all in, this time for about 45,000. Sreten Cvetkovski threatened to call him last time with a "shit hand," as he said. This time, he did indeed to look Sing up, holding {Q-Hearts} {10-Hearts}.

"I love it," said Sing, showing down the {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}.

Trouble found Sing on the flop though. Right in the door came the {10-Spades}, followed by {9-Clubs} {4-Spades}. Sing stood up and began to back away from the table. The turn was a useless {3-Spades}.

The river was far from useless though. The dealer snapped the card and flipped over the {A-Diamonds}, spelling Sing from defeat and earning him a double up. He's now very close to the 100,000-chip mark.

Tens Hold for Holdcroft

Bryan Huang - Eliminated
Bryan Huang - Eliminated
Former chip leader Bryan Huang moved all in for 28,000 before the flop, and Edward Holdcroft moved all in over the top. The rest of the table passed and let the two men battle it out. With Huang at risk for his tournament life, the cards were turned up:

Huang: {A-Spades} {3-Spades}
Holdcroft: {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}

One player commented that they had folded an ace, further reducing Huang's chances. The board ran out {Q-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {J-Spades} {10-Hearts}, and Holdcroft deals the final blow to Huang.

Tony Hachem Eliminated

Tony Hachem - Eliminated
Tony Hachem - Eliminated
Tony Hachem raised to 12,000 on the button and Wang Jung reraised to 24,000 from the big blind. With action back to him, Hachem tried to talk to his opponent Jung and get a read. Jung wasn't giving up much info and then Hachem decided to move in. Jung quickly called.

Hachem {10-Spades} {10-Clubs}
Jung {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}

The table was swarmed with spectators, media, and other players. The dealer dealt the flop out, {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} and a large eruption of cheers as the drama grew.

The turn gave Hachem even more cards to hit when the {5-Clubs} came off. Hachem yelled for a club, an eight, a king, or a ten.

The dealer dealt the river and it was the {2-Spades}. Hachem jumped when he thought it was a club, but then his emotions sank back when he realized the deuce was a spade.

A Blind Confrontation

In a battle of the blinds, Dan Sing limped in and Tony Hachem saw a free flop. It showed up {8-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}, and both men checked. Fourth street was the {6-Clubs}, and Sing again passed. Hachem seized control, moving all in for about 50,000. Before his chips had even made an impression in the felt, Sing insta-called, turning over {Q-Hearts} {9-Hearts}. Hachem was in trouble, showing down {8-Spades} {6-Hearts}.

Lightning struck on the river though, as Hachem found one of his four outs, the {6-Diamonds}. His six-eight turned into sixes full of eights, and he doubles up to right near 100,000. Sing has been knocked back to 70,000.

Penny Parker Eliminated

Penny Parker - Eliminated
Penny Parker - Eliminated
After Paul Pere moved all in, Penny Parker called all in right behind him. The two players were alone to the flop, with Parker's tournament life on the line. Parker had Pere dominated with her pocket tens against Pere's {K-Spades} {10-Spades}.

The flop was big for Pere even though he didn't catch a pair, {A-Spades} {J-Clubs} {9-Spades}. The turn sealed Parker's fate when the {8-Spades} hit. The river was the meaningless {9-Hearts} and Pere gave Parker a big hug as she exited the tournament area.
