Huang Up Against the Wall

Matthew Wall
Matthew Wall
Bryan Huang raised to open, sliding out a full stack of twenty T1,000 yellow chips. Matthew Wall reraised, and Huang moved all in. Wall quickly called, now having all 59,500 of his chips in the middle. Huang tabled {A-Spades} {7-Spades}, but Wall had the {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}.

The flop brought Wall a big sweat, coming down {Q-Hearts} {4-Spades} {3-Spades}. The turn further intensified the drama, as the {6-Hearts} gave Huang a straight draw as well. The river was black, but it was the {J-Clubs}, holding Wall's overpair and doubling him up to 125,000. Huang, meanwhile, is all the way back down to 31,500.

Grant Levy Eliminated

Grant Levy - Eliminated in 27th Place
Grant Levy elected to move all in for his last 56,500. Action folded around to Luke Stanford in the small blind who tanked for a few minutes. Finally, Stanford stuck in chips for the call and the big blind got out of the way.

Stanford {A-Spades} {K-Hearts}
Levy {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}

The board ran out {A-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {2-Spades} {6-Spades} and that would be it for Levy's Main Event, as he finished in 27th place.

No Love Lost for Lovelock

Though the details of the hand are unclear, Colin Lovelock's short stack has finally left him, and he has been eliminated.

Lovelock was the beneficiary of three double ups right on the money bubble, and he gets to cash a check for more than $5,000 as a reward.

Mariakis Moving Up

Wang Che Jung opened with a raise to 12,000. Matthew Wall made the call, and Michael Mariakis raised it up to 25,000. Both opponents called.

The flop came {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {6-Clubs}. Jung checked, and Wall led out with a bet of 25,000. Mariakis quickly called, and Jung ducked out.

The turn brought a repeat ace, the {A-Clubs}. Wall checked this time, and Mariakis wasted no time moving all in, sliding all 43,500 of his chips forward. Wall tanked for several minutes before letting his hand go. Mariakis showed the {A-Spades} and raked in a nice little pot.

A Walk in the Park

Andrew Pantling raised to 8,000 before Penny Parker moved all in for 25,500. Pantling made the call.

Pantling {6-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}
Parker {7-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}

The dealer spread the flop, turn, and river {10-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {2-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}. Parker smiled big as she was able to double up and then some. She now has about 60,000 chips.

Three Players All In, Two Eliminated

It didn't take long for things to get going after the break. On the first hand back, Assadour Assadourian moved all in for his last 16,000. Trevor Saunders then shoved in as well for 18,000. Peter Jones moved in as well with a stack of 10,000. Sreten Cvetkovski was in the big blind and knew he was getting great odds to possibly bust three other players, so he called and got in on the action as well.

Assadourian {K-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}
Saunders {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}
Jones {A-Spades} {2-Spades}
Cvetkovski {Q-Hearts} {4-Hearts}

The board ran out {9-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {8-Hearts} and because Saunders was the largest of the small stacks all in, he took down the entire pot.

Assadourian and Jones were both eliminated on the hand.

Dinner Bell

Thirty-two players are in the money, and all of them are now on a one-hour dinner break.

The staff hopes to play down to the final table before play concludes for the evening.

Lovelock Gives New Meaning to 'Bubble Boy'

Just before the bubble, Colin Lovelock was in the big blind with just 3,600 chips. Soren Eriksen raised in late position, and action passed to Lovelock. He had two thirds of his chips already in the pot, so he blindly tossed the remaining 1,200 in. Eriksen turned over {Q-Diamonds} {7-Hearts}, and Lovelock still didn't know what he had. He and the rest of the table found out together as he slowly flipped his cards up: {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}

A fine time for big slick, and a fine time for a flop of {K-Spades} {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts}. The turn and river came {Q-Clubs} and {8-Hearts} respectively, earning Lovelock a much needed double up.

A few hands later, he was all in again with {A-?} {9-?} versus {A-?} {6-?} and managed to double once again. His timely bubble salvation earned him a spot in the money, despite being the shortest stack in the room as the bubble burst.
