Mike Gaernter Up To 300,000

Preflop, Chris Lee opened to 9,000 chips with Mike Gaertner raising to 20,000. Lee made the call and they saw a {8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop.

Lee checked and Gaertner fired out 20,000. Lee made the call and the turn fell the {q-Spades}. On the turn Gaertner bet 36,000 over Lee's check. Lee then went into the tank for so long that the clock was called on him. Eventually he called.

The river was the {5-Spades} and Gaertner moved all in, Lee again thought for a long time before making the call for all his chips.

Gaertner rolled over {Q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and Lee's face changed. "That's what I was afraid of, the only hand that you could have that beat's me," he added, as he rolled over {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

Lee hits the rail and Gaertner hits 300,000 in chips.

Willcocks AGAIN!

Phillip Willcocks must have rubbed his lucky rabbit's foot this morning. He was dealt pocket kings, {K-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}, and wound up flopping a full house, {A-Spades} {K-Spades} {A-Clubs}, against an opponent's {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts}. Predictably, all the chips got in the middle in the hurry, with the board blanking out {2-Hearts} {10-Clubs} to give another pot to Willcocks.

We're down to 48 players now, and Willcocks is up to a tournament-leading 370,000.

Touch 'em All

Anna Cu Unjieng -- the last remaining female in the field -- got her last 35,000 into the middle with {A-Spades} {10-Spades} and was called by a player with {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}. She needed to catch up and did so in a big way, hitting just about every out she possibly could on a board of {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {10-Clubs}. The entire table had a good laugh, Unjieng's stack was doubled, and played continued on.

Willcocks Wins A Monster

On a flop of {2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} Lester Edoc check-raised Phillip Willcocks to 25,000 with Willcocks making the call.

The turn was the {j-Hearts} and Edoc check-called a 20,000 chip bet from Willcocks. On the river {k-Diamonds} Edoc again check-called a bet, this time 60,000 from Willcocks.

Edoc instantly mucked upon seeing Willcocks' {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a flopped straight.

Willcocks has climbed to 280,000 chips.

Suk Chang Loses A Big One To Jack Ng

Jack Ng
Jack Ng
Yong Suk Chang in the big blind, called a raise from Jack Ng. On the {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop Ng fired out a bet 10,000 chip bet, which Chang check-raised to 30,000. Ng called and proceeded to the turn {7-Diamonds} where Chang checked, and Ng moved all in.

Chang went into the tank, until Ira Blumenthal called time on him. Eventually Danny McDonagh got the table and gave him a minute to act. Chang let his time run down to almost zero, and mucked his cards.

Jack Ng moves to about 210,000. Suk Chang is down to 120,000.

Derek Cheung Eliminated

The chips were all in preflop between Derek Cheung and Jerry Delisle. Cheung was at risk but had the best hand, {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}. Delisle showed {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs} and was ecstatic, jumping out of his chair and shouting "YES!", when an ace hit the flop. Cheung never improved.

"You gotta get lucky to win one of these things," said Delisle by way of apology after the hand.

Delisle is up to 289,000 in chips.

Willcocks on a Tear

Chalk up another elimination for Phillip Willcocks. His {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} overtook his opponent's {10-?} {9-?} by making a pair of queens on the turn, {2-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}. The river was a blank, sending another player to the rail and another pot to Willcocks. He and Dong-bin Han are the big leaders on Table 4.

Fresh chip counts are on their way and will be updated on the chip counts page in a few moments.
