Sha Wei Triples Up

Sha Wei has bounced back from the brink of elimination via a triple up.

Wei moved his final 12,500 chips into the middle preflop and got two calls.

The two opponents checked down the {6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} board, and Wei rolled over {A-Hearts}{k-Clubs} with both opponent's mucking.

Wei moves up to around 40,000 with the pot.

Bumpas Bumps Down

Brian Bumpas may have gotten off easy. He called an early-position player's open-raise to 4,000, then was the only player to call the big blind's re-raise to 15,000. The big blind led out for 22,000 on a flop of {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {2-Clubs} and again Bumpas called. Both players checked the {7-Clubs} turn and {7-Diamonds} river. The big blind turned up {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds} for two pair and took down the pot.

Bumpas retains about 150,000 chips.

Hilton Cruising

We haven't said much about young David Hilton today. He's been a quiet presence in the back of the tournament room, steadily chipping up. We went to get a count on him and immediately saw him trying to knock out another player. Hilton's opponent opened all in from the button for 27,100. Hilton called out of the small blind with {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} and was the dominating favorite over {A-Diamonds} {9-Spades}. A flop of {6-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} gave a bit of a sweat, but things bricked out from there.

Hilton is up to about 190,000.

Goodbye Ms Lin

Celina Lin has joined the rest of the members of Team PokerStars Asia Pro and hit the rail.

Lin was in the big blind and called a 5,600 chip raise from Kevin Clark. They took a flop of {9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Lin instantly moved in for 12,900 chips. Clark thought momentarily before making the call with {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts} against Lin's {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

The {j-Diamonds} turn would make a straight for Clark and the {k-Diamonds} river, meant that he would scoop the pot.

"I put you on a stop and go play" said Clark, to the departing Lin.

Celina told us about her bumpy ride yesterday on the last break of Day 2:

Uundai Doesn't Get There

Bold Uundai has spent the better part of the first ten levels of this tournament running over the field. As was described by one of the other players at the table, "he always gets there. Doesn't matter. Jack-eight, eight-nine, whatever. It's good."

Uundai led out for 5,000 on a flop of {10-Spades} {K-Hearts} {8-Hearts} only to see one player raise to 18,000 and another re-raise all in for 66,600 total. Uundai called, putting the second player to a big decision for most of his stack. He finally, reluctantly folded what he later said was {Q-?} {j-?}. That left Uundai and the all-in player rin the pot.

Uundai: {K-Clubs} {5-Spades}
Opponent: {A-?} {k-?}

Uundai was dismayed to see that he was out-kicked, but then engaged in his trademark punching off the table before the turn {J-Diamonds} and river {J-Spades}. Neither card improved him to the winner.

For what it's worth (we're not sure), Uundai has a block of ice wrapped in a cloth napkin that he is liberally applying to his face and forehead. Apparently he's hot.

Delisle's Tough Call Rewarded

We don't know how it got to this point, but Jerry Delisle was looking at an all-in bet of 31,300 on a board of {9-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {6-Diamonds}. He took off his cap, placed it on his head sideways, then took it off again. Finally he called, and his opponent was not happy that he did.

Opponent: {7-Hearts} {7-Clubs}
Delisle: {J-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}

Delisle had top pair but had to sweat his opponent's combination draw, set plus open-ended straight. The {j-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing, nor did the {6-Spades} river. Delisle's two pair, jacks and nines, were the best hand and sent his opponent off to an early dinner.

Delisle now has about 178,000 chips.

Mongolian Tilt!

The Mongolian players in the field have put more than a few of their opponents on tilt with their interesting take on poker etiquette and unique playing style.

Bold Uundai chalked up another tilt, and another elimination.

Preflop Uundai joined three other limpers, before the eliminated opponent moved all in for around 35,000. Uundai was the only player who opted to call the raise and the table was stunned when he rolled over {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}. The all in player had {K-Hearts}{q-Spades}, but wouldn't you know it, the flop came {7-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} to put Bold out in front.

The tilt rage was instantly displayed across the all in player's face. The {4-Diamonds} turn and {3-Clubs} river were not enough to get the re-suckout so he hit the rail.

Not before throwing his hat across the room, and unleashing an expletive fuelled barrage upon the Mongolian player, who doesn't speak lick of English.

Hanes Hanging On

It's not looking good for Johnny Hanes. He is trimmed down to a very, very short stack of about 16,000 and recently survived an all in. Murun Agvaan-ochir opened the pot for 5,500, with Hanes calling from the small blind and the big blind calling all in for less. On a flop of {8-Spades} {10-Spades} {j-Diamonds}, Hanes moved in his last 7,900. Agvaan-ochir agonized briefly before calling for a three-way showdown.

Agvaan-ochir: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}
Hanes: {9-Clubs} {10-Clubs}
Big blind: {q-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}

The big blind was in the lead for the main pot, but Hanes was in the lead for the larger side pot. With each man shouting for the card he wanted to see hit the board, the dealer peeled off the {5-Clubs} and the {J-Spades}. That left Hanes as the winner for the side pot and the big blind as the winner of the main pot. There was no elimination on the hand, but all three players remain well short.

Raymond Wu Eliminated

There is just one member of Team PokerStars Asia Pro left, and that's Celina Lin.

A short-stacked Raymond Wu was eliminated after opening from under-the-gun to 6,000 and having a player raise over the top. Wu made the commited call and tabled his {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} against the {J-Spades} {9-Spades} of the opponent but couldn't avoid the cards he needed to fade to win the pot. He's out.
