Choi Loses Flip

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

In Wook Choi just lost a flip with two red sevens against the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for an opponent. Choi's opponent was the player all in and the board ran out {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Choi was knocked back to 80,000 in chips.

Negreanu All In, Finds Folds

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
Daniel Negreanu from day 1b action
Daniel Negreanu from day 1b action

Jackson Zheng opened to 3,000 from the hijack only to have Daniel Negreanu move all in for 39,200 from the button.

Jim Ghobrial in the small blind went deep into the tank before cutting out eight yellow 5,000-denomination chips in readiness to make the call.

"I could eliminate two world champions in two days!" muttered Ghobrial in reference to potentially knocking out Negreanu to go along with his Chris Moneymaker scalp from yesterday.

"I have a hand to call with!" added Ghobrial in the direction of Negreanu as he sat there emotionless.

Eventually Ghobrial kicked his cards to the muck, as did Zheng, to see Negreanu pushed the pot to move to roughly 45,000 in chips.

"I wouldn't care if you called. I don't mind flipping!" stated Negreanu as he gathered the pot.

"I had {9-}{9-}. My favorite hand!" continued Ghobrial.

As the next hand began, Negreanu added, "You know you're either racing or dead!"

Moussa Doubles Huge Through Sabat

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

On the turn, the board read {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} between Eddy Sabat and George Moussa. Sabat was tanking with an all-in bet of 58,300 in front of him from Moussa. After a couple of minutes, Sabat made the call with the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. Moussa held the {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a straight with the flush redraw. Sabat needed a repeat king or queen on the river to turn his two pair into a full house.

The river completed the board with the {6-Spades} and missed Sabat. He sent the chips over to Moussa, who doubled to 160,000 while Sabat was left with just 15,000.

Boxell Busts

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
No repeat final table for Leo Boxell
No repeat final table for Leo Boxell

Angelo Scicchitano opened the button with a raise to 3,600 and found a call by Tyron Krost from the small blind before Leo Boxell moved all in from the big blind for 19,900.

Both Scicchitano and Krost made the call before checking down the {6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} board to see Boxell table his {A-Clubs}{5-Spades}.

It bested Scicchitano's {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, but Krost's {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} would provide a dominating kicker to send Boxell to the rail - but not before Krost kindly shook hands with one of Australia's tournament stalwarts.

As last years third-place finisher made his way out of the tournament area, Krost collected the pot to move to 162,000 in chips.

Tran Topples Over

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
Michael Tran
Michael Tran

On a flop of {10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, Michael Tran led out for 6,300 only to have his opponent move all in for in-excess of 35,000.

Tran made the call for his last 13,500 tabling his {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} to be up against his opponent's {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}

A one-dimple sweat on the turn of the {5-Diamonds}, followed by the {J-Clubs} on the river, would see Tran unfortunately make his way to the rail.

Hinrichsen Gone

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Andrew "FUZZBUNGLE" Hinrichsen was all in for 17,000 against two players, Mitchell Carle and Mark Rebeira. The board ran through {Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} while Carle and Rebeira checked the flop, turn and river. Rebeira tabled the {A-Spades}{K-Spades} on the end and neither Hinrichsen nor Carle could beat that. Most importantly, Hinrichsen couldn't beat it and was sent packing. Rebeira moved to 103,000 in chips.
