David Steicke Eliminated in 9th Place (HKD 263,300)

David Steicke - 9th Place
David Steicke - 9th Place

From middle position, David Steicke raised to 155,000 with just 5,000 behind. Action folded a few spots over to Daniel Nordstrom in the hijack seat and he reraised to 300,000. Everyone else folded.

Steicke: {7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Nordstrom: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}

The flop made things a bit interesting when the {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} fell and gave Steicke an open-ended straight draw. One problem was that Nordstrom held two of the aces he could use to make his straight.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and river the {10-Diamonds}. Steicke missed everything and Nordstrom's aces held up. Steicke took home HKD 263,300 for his finish.

Rossiter in a Sea of Chips

Jeff Rossiter just picked up a huge pot with pocket rockets

Jeff Rossiter has just seen his stack increase to incredible heights and we caught all the action on the massive hand which recently played out.

The play started when Jimmy Pan opened from middle position. Rossiter flatted from the cutoff seat and Kai Yat Fam came along for the ride from the big blind.

The {k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop saw the action check to Rossiter who threw out 225,000. Pan got out of the way, while Fam stayed involved as the {j-Clubs} was dealt on the turn. Again it was checked to Rossiter and this time he bet 460,000. Another call would see an {a-Clubs} dealt on the river.

Another check from Fam would see Rossiter go to value town, sending out a bet of 855,000. Fam made the call and immediately sent his cards into the muck as Rossiter turned over {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} for a rivered set.

Big Double for Nordstrom

Daniel Nordstrom just found a lovely lady on the river to spike a big double up through chip leader Fabian Spiedelmann. Spiedelmann had raised, Nordstrom reraised and Spiedelmann shoved. Nordstrom quickly called with the {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. Spiedelmann held the {A-Spades}{2-Spades}.

The flop came down big for Spiedelmann with the {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{7-Spades} falling. It gave him top pair and the nut flush draw. The turn {J-Clubs} added a straight draw for Nordstrom and then the {Q-Clubs} landed on the river to give Nordstrom a set of queens to win the hand.
