Gu Bluffed

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

Huidong Gu re-entered in the High Roller right after the previous break, but he is again down to almost 16,000. He played a big pot recently where he was bluffed off the hand in the flop.

Gu raised to 1,200 from the lojack, the player from the hijack three-bet to 2,700 and the small blind cold-called. Gu proceeded with a four-bet to 9,100, the three-bettor folded his hand and the caller decided to make a second call preflop.

The flop came {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades} and the small blind led for 8,200, while Gu had around 16,000 behind him. Gu didn't think for a long time before throwing his cards on the muck, and his opponent tabled {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for ten-high. Unless Gu did anything crazy preflop with something less than nine-high, everybody in the table supposed that he was bluffed.

Mengdian Peng
Mengdian Peng

Mengdian Peng just busted from the High Roller by putting his chips in the middle in a situation where he had exactly 0% chances to win.

He shoved in the turn with the board showing {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and laughed when he saw his opponent calling and opening {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} for quads! Peng opened two red jacks but nothing could save him in the river, with the {3-Hearts} completing the board.

Two New Entries and a Bustout

Level 3 : 100/300, 300 ante
Shawn Busse
Shawn Busse

There have been two new entries during this level, and they were both non-Asian players. Shawn Busse from the U.S. and Ian Cordts from Ireland got their seats in the field, which is dominated by Chinese players so far.

Shawn Busse is quite an accomplished player, with many cashes in his résumé. Add to those a 2010 WSOP gold bracelet, won on that year's Event #47: $1,000 NLHE along with $485,791 and this brings some international glory to the field.

Meanwhile, Huidong Gu lost all his chips and left the tournament area.

Huang Rivered for the First Re-Entry

Level 3 : 100/300, 300 ante
Wei Huang
Wei Huang

Wei Huang is the first player who busts and re-enters the High Roller. He was left with 7,200 chips when he shoved them in the middle from the button after a raise and call.

The raiser decided to call and the caller threw his cards on the muck. Wei Huang was in great shape for a double-up since his {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} was dominating his opponent's {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

The board was safe for him until the turn, with the {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} keeping Huang's advantage. But the river had already made its plans, and the {10-Clubs} send him to the cashier for the first re-entry of the day.

The First Elimination

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Kun Jiang
Kun Jiang

Kun Jiang was the first player that lost all his chips, and this happened as early as in the 2nd level of the day. The chips went in the middle in the turn with the board reading {j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

Jiang was holding {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and he was in a drawing very thin, since his opponent was holding {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for trips. He needed a ten and only a ten in the river, so the {q-Clubs} that appeared didn't change anything and he left the tournament area.
